Tomorrow, Marvel’s Avengers<\/strong> sees the release of the Black Panther expansion, War for Wakanda<\/a>. This is the game’s biggest content drop so far, but it left fans wondering about the fate of one other character that was promised, but never shown.<\/p>\n

That, of course, being Spider-Man, which was announced as a PlayStation-exclusive character<\/a> well before the game even came out. Since then, we’d not seen the character, and no one really has a good idea of when he’s going to be playable. Earlier this year, developer Crystal Dynamics said Spider-Man will arrive after Black Panther<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The developer reiterated these comments recently, confirming to Screen Rant<\/a> that Spider-Man will be here before the end of the year. <\/p>\n

Senior game designer Scott Walters said, “In terms of what we can say now, we’ve always scheduled and looked to bring Spider-Man out in 2021 for PlayStation owners. That is still on track, so we’ll have more announcements later on this year.”<\/p>\n

The War for Wakanda adds meaningful new content to Avengers, in the form of new missions, new villains, new enemies, a new biome, and Black Panther himself as a playable character – all for free. However, it probably won’t change your opinion of the game<\/a>.<\/p>\n
