Hello,<\/p>\n

Today, No Man\u2019s Sky<\/a><\/strong><\/em> celebrates a major landmark in its ongoing journey.\u00a0<\/p>\n

5 years ago, the first travelers were setting foot on their first planet, gazing on their first star system, and embarking on a journey which many are still on to this day. On that day back in 2016, our small team could barely have imagined what lay ahead.<\/p>\n

The game has seen 16 major free updates to date, perhaps the biggest coming in 2018 when we released the Next Update and Xbox players joined the community for the first time.<\/p>\n

Since then we have introduced pets, visuals enhancements, living ships, mechs, abandoned freighters, expeditions, more varied biomes, cross-play, and much, much more.<\/p>\n

Another major moment came in 2020 when we opened the door and saw a huge number of new travelers flood into the universe with our entry into Xbox Game Pass. Overnight, the Nexus (in-game social hub) was flooded with players looking to connect and embark on interstellar missions together.<\/p>\n

No Man\u2019s Sky<\/em> players spend hundreds of hours in the game, building bases, embarking on community missions either solo or with groups of friends, or following the path to the center of the universe. At the next generation launch, we were delighted to welcome players with an enhanced, ultra version of that universe, as just another free upgrade. Xbox players are a large part of our ever-growing player base which we are proud to say is one of the most welcoming communities in all of gaming.\u00a0<\/p>\n

It has been a long journey for our tiny development team, but there is still a long road-map ahead of us. The next update is never too far away. In fact, today, we are announcing that the next update will be Frontiers, with more info coming soon.<\/p>\n
