That surprisingly isn\u2019t the case. Eidos Montreal is sticking to the script it knows well. From <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gameinformer.com\/games\/thief\/b\/pc\/archive\/2014\/02\/24\/thief-review.aspx\">Thief<\/a> to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gameinformer.com\/games\/deus_ex_human__revolution\/b\/xbox360\/archive\/2011\/08\/22\/a-long-dormant-series-returns-to-mixed-results.aspx\">Deus Ex<\/a>, this development studio has proved\u00a0it knows how to make riveting single-player experiences that are backed by meaningful player choice. That\u2019s exactly what Marvel\u2019s Guardians of the Galaxy is.<\/p>\n<p>The player controls just Star-Lord, the Guardians\u2019 leader, who will be asked to make difficult decisions that affect the story, the gameplay, and even the relationships with his fellow teammates. That doesn\u2019t mean the other Guardians are tucked into the background. They are in the spotlight just as much as Star-Lord through an innovative idea called \u201csolo teamplay,\u201d a control input that allows the player to tell the Guardians when to use their abilities.<\/p>\n<p>For this month\u2019s cover story, I saw 18 minutes of Marvel\u2019s Guardians of the Galaxy in action, and also talked to key members of the development team to learn everything about this wildly designed action\/adventure. They walked me through combat, player choice, galactic exploration, collectibles, leveling up, and what we can expect from the story and relationships.<\/p>\n<p><span>This month\u2019s cover art was created by the amazing duo of <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/mchecc?lang=en\">Marco Checchetto <\/a>and <span>colorist <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/colornmatt?lang=en\">Matthew Wilson<\/a><\/span><span>, a team that is currently creating some of Marvel\u2019s best art through the <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.marvel.com\/articles\/comics\/an-inside-look-at-marco-checchetto-s-return-to-daredevil-11\">Daredevil books<\/a><span>.
