A character whose current emotional state is strong against an enemy&rsquo;s state won&rsquo;t automatically win a fight against them. However, the character with advantage in the situation will see their base stats deal more damage to their enemy.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"#section1\"><strong>What does the Emotions Chart do in Omori?<\/strong><\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"#section2\"><strong>Other emotions<\/strong><\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"#section3\"><strong>How to inflict emotions<\/strong><\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"#section4\"><strong>Enemy emotions and rewards<\/strong><\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><a id=\"section1\"><\/a><\/p>\n<h3>What does the Emotions Chart do in Omori?<\/h3>\n<\/p>\n<p>The Emotions Chart is a key item you receive in Omori after defeating two Happy Sprout Mole enemies.<\/p>\n<p>The chart lays out the rules of emotion-based strengths and weaknesses in battle, as seen below:<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/arcader.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/05\/omori-emotions-chart-how-to-inflict-emotions-and-which-to-use-12.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"503\" height=\"377\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-792698\" srcset=\"https:\/\/arcader.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/05\/omori-emotions-chart-how-to-inflict-emotions-and-which-to-use-12.jpg 503w, https:\/\/arcader.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/05\/omori-emotions-chart-how-to-inflict-emotions-and-which-to-use-1.png 156w, https:\/\/arcader.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/05\/omori-emotions-chart-how-to-inflict-emotions-and-which-to-use-2.png 173w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 503px) 100vw, 503px\"><\/p>\n<p><em><strong>Sad<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Sad<\/strong> is strong against Happy and weak against Angry.<\/li>\n<li>It increases Defense but reduces Speed.<\/li>\n<li>If taking damage to Heart (health), part of that damage will be dealt to Juice (skill stamina) instead.<\/li>\n<li>Sad has three levels: <strong>Sad<\/strong>, <strong>Depressed<\/strong>, and <strong>Miserable<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Hero<\/strong> is the party member most closely associated with Sadness, and can take more hits in this state.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><em><strong>Happy<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Happy<\/strong> is strong against Angry and weak against Sad.<\/li>\n<li>It increases Luck and Speed but reduces Hit Rate.<\/li>\n<li>Happy has three levels: <strong>Happy<\/strong>, <strong>Ecstatic<\/strong>, and <strong>Manic<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Kel<\/strong> is the party member most closely associated with Happiness, and will move faster and deal more critical damage in this state.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><em><strong>Angry<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Angry<\/strong> is strong against Sad and weak against Happy.<\/li>\n<li>It increases Attack but reduces Defense.<\/li>\n<li>Angry has three levels: <strong>Angry<\/strong>, <strong>Enraged<\/strong>, and <strong>Furious<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Aubrey<\/strong> is the party member most closely associated with Anger, and can deal more damage in this state.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>To view the chart in-game, open up the menu and select &ldquo;Pocket&rdquo; &gt; &ldquo;Important&rdquo;. The Emotions Chart will be in there.<\/p>\n<p><a id=\"section2\"><\/a><\/p>\n<h4>Other emotions<\/h4>\n<\/p>\n<p>In addition to the three main emotions and their level variants as shown on the chart, there are two other emotional states in Omori.<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>Neutral<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p>Characters will begin all encounters in the Neutral emotional state unless special conditions apply. It has two levels: <strong>Afraid<\/strong> and <strong>Stressed Out<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/arcader.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/05\/omori-emotions-chart-how-to-inflict-emotions-and-which-to-use-1.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"450\" height=\"338\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-792704\" srcset=\"https:\/\/arcader.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/05\/omori-emotions-chart-how-to-inflict-emotions-and-which-to-use-6.jpg 450w, https:\/\/arcader.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/05\/omori-emotions-chart-how-to-inflict-emotions-and-which-to-use-7.jpg 156w, https:\/\/arcader.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/05\/omori-emotions-chart-how-to-inflict-emotions-and-which-to-use-8.jpg 173w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 450px) 100vw, 450px\"><\/p>\n<p>A character who is Afraid has their available skills limited to Guard and Calm Down, and they can&rsquo;t perform any bonus Follow-Ups after their main attack. Damage received is increased to 1.5x while Afraid.<\/p>\n<p><a id=\"section3\"><\/a><\/p>\n<h3>How to inflict emotions<\/h3>\n<\/p>\n<p>Each party member has their own unique skills, many of which can impact the emotions of their friends and enemies during battle.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Omori can use <strong>Sad Poem<\/strong> to make a friend or foe Sad.<\/li>\n<li>Aubrey can use <strong>Pep Talk<\/strong> to make a friend or foe Happy.<\/li>\n<li>Kel can use <strong>Annoy<\/strong> to make a friend or foe Angry.<\/li>\n<li>Hero can use <strong>Massage<\/strong> to remove an emotion from a friend or foe. (Unlike the others, Hero&rsquo;s first emotional skill isn&rsquo;t available by default and instead unlocks at Level 3.)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>As the party members level up further, they will unlock more skills, including ones that can influence emotions:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Aubrey&rsquo;s <strong>Team Spirit<\/strong> (Level 11) skill makes Aubrey and one other party member Happy.<\/li>\n<li>Omori&rsquo;s <strong>Painful Truth<\/strong> (Level 19) skill makes both Omori and the target Sad. It also inflicts damage on the target.<\/li>\n<li>Kel&rsquo;s <strong>Megaphone<\/strong> (Level 20) skill makes all other party members Angry. Kel is unaffected. Kel can also use <strong>Comeback<\/strong> (Level 29) to make himself Happy. Depending on the route, he can obtain the special <strong>Snowball<\/strong> skill that can make foes Sad and inflict more damage on them.<\/li>\n<li>Hero can use <strong>Enchant<\/strong> (Level 22) to draw an enemy&rsquo;s next attack towards himself. The enemy targeted then becomes Happy. Similarly, <strong>Dazzle<\/strong> (Level 30) makes targeted foes Happy and reduces their attack power.
