While they are not as significant as those encountered in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.vg247.com\/2017\/07\/10\/4-months-later-nier-automatas-rough-pc-port-still-doesnt-have-a-patch-nor-even-a-promise-of-one\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Nier Automata<\/a>, they&rsquo;re nonetheless causing unnecessary friction.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"video\">\n<div class=\"video-container\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube-nocookie.com\/embed\/L8yzF_Jy7R0?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/div>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=L8yzF_Jy7R0\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Watch on YouTube<\/a><\/figure>\n<\/p>\n<p>Setting aside performance issues, the biggest problem right now is that the game&rsquo;s logic breaks when it runs at framerates above 60fps. This is sadly a common problem in Japanese games, and in Nier Replicant, it makes the character uncontrollably fast. Animations tied to the framerate are nonetheless affected, causing them to bug out.<\/p>\n<p>Modders Ersh and SkacikPL have created a fix in the form of a small mod <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nexusmods.com\/nierreplicant\/mods\/3?tab=description\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">available now on Nexus Mods<\/a>. After installing the mod, you&rsquo;ll be able to input the framerate cap appropriate to your monitor\/what your PC can support. Ersh and SkacikPL say that framerates up to 360fps work just fine, even on monitors that do not support it.<\/p>\n<p>The trick, however, according to the mod&rsquo;s description, is to pick a framerate target your PC can actually maintain, or fall slightly below. Going above your set limit will still break the game&rsquo;s physics.<\/p>\n<p>Kaldaien&rsquo;s Special K injector, which Nier Automata players will be very familiar with, has also been <a href=\"https:\/\/discourse.differentk.fyi\/t\/special-k-v-21-04-04-now-with-d3d12-support\/1656\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">updated to support Nier Replicant<\/a>. In particular, it fixes a bizarre problem that <a href=\"https:\/\/steamcommunity.com\/app\/1113560\/discussions\/0\/3132792921898133884\/\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">tanks framerate<\/a> when using an Xbox Controller.
