The unannounced, but very much anticipated Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic remake became a little less mysterious today.<\/p>\n

One of the mysteries surrounding the Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic<\/strong> remake, which multiple reports revealed is currently in the works<\/a>, has actually been the identity of the team behind it.<\/p>\n

Bloomberg reporter Jason Schreier, who was among the first to reveal that a Knights of the Old Republic remake is in development, has now confirmed that Aspyr is the studio behind it. Eurogamer<\/a> also corroborated this news, adding that the project is going to be more of a remake than a straight remaster.<\/p>\n

Schreier dropped this tidbit in an interview with MinnMax<\/a> (embedded above), ending months of speculation about who’s actually making the game. Surprisingly, original creator BioWare does not appear to be involved – so far, at least. An official announcement, when it does arrive, will likely contain plenty more details.<\/p>\n

Aspyr isn’t exactly known for high-production projects. The studio has, however, been bringing classic Star Wars games to modern platforms, more recently with Star Wars: Republic Commando on PS4 and Switch<\/a>.<\/p>\n
