Double Fine has revealed that Psychonauts 2<\/strong>, the long-in-development sequel to the classic adventure game, is indeed going to be released this year.<\/p>\n

In a follow-up to a Tweet promoting a Steam sale of the original game, the official Twitter account for Double Fine reiterated that the anticipated sequel has not been delayed, but stopped just short of actually announcing a release date.<\/p>\n

And yes, Psychonauts 2 is this year and yes I’ve been mentioning that here and elsewhere for a while but no I can’t tell you when because someone from THE COMPANY would arrange for a mysterious “cactus accident” to happen to me…<\/p>\n

But it is real. It is playable. It is coming.<\/p>\n

Psychonauts 2 was successfully crowdfunded back in 2016<\/a>. The game has been delayed multiple times, with the most recent major delay pushing it back to 2020<\/a>. That year has obviously come and gone without Psychonauts 2, but at least Double Fine is certain it won’t be pushed back again.<\/p>\n

Psychonauts 2 is coming to PC, PS4, and Xbox One. <\/p>\n
