Eight years after it was announced<\/a>, it’s finally officially official: The next RPG in Bethesda’s long-running Elder Scrolls series is called Sentinel.<\/p>\n

The title was revealed in a video celebrating Bethesda’s 40th anniversary, narrated by Todd Howard (of course), who cast back to the studio’s first game, Gridiron\u2014Bethesda was big on sports games back in the day\u2014before moving into The Elder Scrolls series, the games that would take it to the big leagues, in the early 1990s.<\/p>\n

“As we’re here in the 40th anniversary, we think about all of the games we’ve made,” Howard says as the video draws to an end. <\/p>\n

“And so even though yes, we’re looking back,we’re also looking forward to all we’re doing, particularly with the Fallout franchise and obviously The Elder Scrolls. You know, everybody’s always asking about Elder Scrolls 6. And we thought, hey, given the moment, what a perfect time to tell you what The Elder Scrolls 6 is actually called.”<\/p>\n

And thus is the title revealed: Sentinel<\/strong>.<\/p>\n
