My mind was occupied with upgrading the outpost itself, building rooms, and trying to get an <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pcgamer.com\/games\/third-person-shooter\/arc-raiders-emperor-modulator-location\/\" target=\"_blank\">Emperor Modulator<\/a> and Frigate Inductor to level my Gunsmith and Research Bench. I wanted those spicy new amplified weapon upgrades like explosive bullets or incendiary shells.<\/p>\n<p>I <em>assumed <\/em>the whole building outpost furniture thing was a cosmetic feature, but I was dead wrong. Crafting furniture in your Arc Raiders outpost actually gives you hundreds of extra storage slots for items and weapons and it&#8217;s fairly easy to unlock, you just need to:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Reach level 18 to start the Sheltered Retreat project.<\/li>\n<li>Take a picture of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pcgamer.com\/games\/third-person-shooter\/arc-raiders-ruined-homestead-location\/\" target=\"_blank\">Ruined Homestead<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li>Donate some materials including <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pcgamer.com\/games\/third-person-shooter\/arc-raiders-planks-sheet-metal-location\/\" target=\"_blank\">planks and sheet metal<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li>Damage flying arc and a Bully for the final step.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>After that, you can complete the project and move in, recycle all of the boxes under blankets to get some planks, and start crafting some furniture.<\/p>\n<p>Select an empty furniture slot in your main outpost, or by building a new room to put some in.<\/p>\n<figure role=\"gallery\">\n<figure><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/arcader.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/10\/dont-neglect-crafting-furniture-in-your-arc-raiders-outpost-it-unlocks-hundreds-of-extra-storage-slots.jpg\" alt=\"Arc Raiders furniture - Crafting furniture\" \/><figcaption>Furniture will list its storage slots in the menu<small role=\"credit\">Embark Studios<\/small><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<figure><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/arcader.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/10\/dont-neglect-crafting-furniture-in-your-arc-raiders-outpost-it-unlocks-hundreds-of-extra-storage-slots-1.jpg\" alt=\"Arc Raiders furniture - Placinng items\" \/><figcaption>Choose to &#8220;decorate&#8221; your furniture to store items on it<small role=\"credit\">Embark Studios<\/small><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/figure>\n<ul>\n<li>Each piece of furniture you craft has a listed number of slots.<\/li>\n<li>Right click on the piece of furniture and choose &#8220;Decorate&#8221; to place items on it.<\/li>\n<li>There are shelves and gun racks that attach to the walls, but also standing pieces of furniture you can place items on.<\/li>\n<li>As with your stash, you can place full item stacks on furniture, too.<\/li>\n<li>To quickly return all the items stored back to your stash, just right click on the furniture piece and choose &#8220;clear all attached items&#8221;.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>You can find more blueprints for furniture out in the world, usually in residential areas\u2014I&#8217;ve found tonnes in Pendola Pass&#8217;s Old Town.
