It was filed with the US District Court for the Northern District of California, San Jose Division last week (via <a href=\"https:\/\/arstechnica.com\/tech-policy\/2026\/08\/lawsuit-demands-logitech-hand-tariff-refunds-over-to-customers\/\" target=\"_blank\">Ars Technica<\/a>). <\/p>\n<p>&#8220;This case is an example of a large multinational corporation and its US subsidiary taking advantage of its customers who rely on the integrity of manufacturers to sell products to customers in good faith,&#8221; the complaint alleges. <\/p>\n<div style=\"min-height: 250px;\">\n<div class=\"kwizly-quiz kwizly-e47VRX\"><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<p> <script src=\"https:\/\/kwizly.com\/embed\/e47VRX.js\" async><\/script><\/p>\n<p>&#8220;[The defendant] refused to be honest with their customers by raising prices across their product catalog to allegedly account for costs due to tariffs and then failed to return tariff proceeds when the US Supreme Court declared those tariffs unlawful.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>While Logitech did not publicly announce price hikes, the complaint makes mention of the company&#8217;s executives <a href=\"https:\/\/www.roic.ai\/quote\/LOGI\/transcripts\/2026-year\/4-quarter#:~:text=The%20positive%20impact%20of%20the%20U.S.%20price%20actions%20and%20favorable%20foreign%20exchange%20more%20than%20offset%20the%20impact%20of%20tariffs%20and%20higher%20promotions.\" target=\"_blank\">discussing higher prices and profits in regards to offsetting tariffs<\/a> in its subsequent earnings calls. <\/p>\n<figure class=\"van-image-figure inline-layout\" data-bordeaux-image-check >\n<div class='image-full-width-wrapper'>\n<div class='image-widthsetter' style=\"max-width:4032px;\">\n<p class=\"vanilla-image-block\" style=\"padding-top:56.25%;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" id=\"cguqfDdXPCcKaAeJw7Vf6R\" name=\"IMG_7462\" alt=\"Logitech G325 Gaming headset (in purple) from the side with a backdrop of trees and houses\" src=\"https:\/\/arcader.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/08\/proposed-class-action-lawsuit-against-logitech-demands-money-to-be-given-back-to-customers-after-61-million-us-tariff-refund.jpg\" mos=\"\" align=\"middle\" fullscreen=\"\" width=\"4032\" height=\"2268\" attribution=\"\" endorsement=\"\" class=\"inline\"><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div><figcaption itemprop=\"caption description\" class=\" inline-layout\"><span class=\"credit\" itemprop=\"copyrightHolder\">(Image credit: Future)<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>&#8220;The company\u2019s CFO, Mr. Anversa, attributed the company\u2019s expanded gross margins\u2014up approximately 130 basis points year-over-year in the fourth quarter\u2014in part to Logitech\u2019s United States subsidiary\u2019s pricing actions executed in April 2025.&#8221; the filing says.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Mr. Anversa stated that those pricing actions, together with favorable currency movements, more than offset tariffs and promotions.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The Trump administration&#8217;s IEEPA tariffs were <a href=\"https:\/\/www.congress.gov\/crs-product\/LSB11398\" target=\"_blank\">ruled against by the US Supreme Court<\/a> in February of this year, after it found that the US president did not have the authority to impose them. Since then, Logitech has received a sum of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.reuters.com\/business\/logitech-beats-forecasts-after-us-tariff-2026-07-28\/\" target=\"_blank\">$61 million<\/a> as part of the refund process. Earlier this month, PC cooling company Arctic announced that it would be <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pcgamer.com\/hardware\/cooling\/arctic-announces-price-rollback-thanks-to-a-us-gov-tariff-refund-which-will-continue-until-every-single-dollar-arctic-received-has-been-paid-back-to-our-customers\/\" target=\"_blank\">rolling back prices on its components for US customers<\/a>, after receiving a refund of its own.<\/p>\n<p>I have reached out to Logitech for comment, and will update this article if any is received. In the meantime, however, I doubt this will be the last proposed class action suit regarding tariff-inflated pricing.
