This is the fourth announced release date for the movie.&nbsp;<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span><span>Originally slated for a September 4, 2020, release in North America, the movie was <\/span><\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/deadline.com\/2020\/07\/milla-jovovich-monster-hunter-moves-to-2021-1202982917\/\"><span><span><span><span>pushed back<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/a><span><span> to April 23, 2021 back in July. On October 5, however, <\/span><\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/deadline.com\/2020\/11\/monster-hunter-release-date-change-milla-jovovich-1234591362\/\"><span><span><span><span>Sony announced<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/a><span><span> it was moving <em>Monster Hunter<\/em> up to December 30, 2020. As of today, the movie&#8217;s release date has been moved once again; now it is December 25, 2020. The movie&#8217;s December 4 release date in territories such as China and Europe remains unchanged, as revealed in the movie&#8217;s latest Chinese trailer, released yesterday. No specific reason was given for the movie&#8217;s new North American release date. Anderson, who is perhaps best-known for his series of <em>Resident Evil<\/em> movies, which he directed and\/or produced all six entries of. Anderson has also directed film adaptations for <em>Mortal Kombat<\/em> and <em>Dead or Alive<\/em>, and he&#8217;s also the director of the cult horror film <em>Event Horizon<\/em>. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span><span><em>Monster Hunter<\/em> features Anderson&#8217;s wife and Resident Evil star Milla Jovovich, rapper-actor Tip &#8220;T.I.&#8221; Harris, Tony Jaa, and Ron Perlman. According to the film&#8217;s synopsis, when a group of soldiers are hit by a sandstorm, they are unexpectedly transported into an alternate, unknown dimension full of monsters and deadly beasts.
