If you&#8217;re looking for something a little more Dragon Age and less Divinity for your next replay, Modder Relysia has gone and stuck an over-the-shoulder third-person camera in Baldur&#8217;s Gate 3, uploading it to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nexusmods.com\/baldursgate3\/mods\/23959?tab=description\" target=\"_blank\">Nexus Mods<\/a> last week, and it looks a lot better than you may expect.<\/p>\n<div class=\"youtube-video\" data-nosnippet >\n<div class=\"video-aspect-box\"><iframe data-lazy-priority=\"low\" data-lazy-src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube-nocookie.com\/embed\/QVPfJGoLULg\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>In the brief showcase teaser, you can see the player wandering around the Undercity Ruins. Animations are a tad jittery, but because BG3&#8217;s environments are made to be zoomed in and gawked at and shown off in dialog cutscenes, everything is at a believable scale. I&#8217;m not sure this would work in all of the game&#8217;s environments to the same extent, but that it works at all is nifty. <\/p>\n<p>You&#8217;ve always been able to get the camera up close in BG3, but it&#8217;s always angled slightly downward, feeling less like a proper third person action game cam, and more like a compromise with its classico tactico overhead view. Even playing with a game pad, it&#8217;s distinct from other videogame cameras.<\/p>\n<p>The Nexus Mods page states that it&#8217;s compatible with the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nexusmods.com\/baldursgate3\/mods\/781\" target=\"_blank\">WASD character movement mod<\/a>, which we dubbed one of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pcgamer.com\/the-best-baldurs-gate-3-mods\/\">the best mods for Baldur&#8217;s Gate 3<\/a>, so if you wanted you could conceivably replay the game pretending you and your invisible cameraman have been isekai&#8217;d out of Dragon Age and into Faer\u00fbn. (Throw in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pcgamer.com\/games\/baldurs-gate\/one-baldur-s-gate-3-modder-managed-to-implemented-real-time-combat-like-the-classic-games-but-you-should-probably-wait-for-them-to-figure-out-a-pause-button-before-diving-in\/\">the real time with pause mod<\/a> as well if you&#8217;re a true sick freak who rejects the turn-based revolution, comfortable in the knowledge that you&#8217;d rather die in four seconds than win if it takes four minutes.)<\/p>\n<p>There are lots of settings, too. You can adjust FOV, offset, camera height, and even customize &#8220;horizontal tracking speed&#8221; if you&#8217;d rather the camera not immediately jerk around with your every impulsive movement.
