Final Fantasy 7 Revelation is the third and final act in Square Enix&#8217;s remake trilogy, and even from its earliest teases, it looks like this one is squeezing in all the nostalgia-mandated highlights. After its Summer Game Fest reveal, Square hasn&#8217;t been shy about interviews and lore dumps, so I&#8217;ll keep the updates coming, but here&#8217;s everything we know so far about Final Fantasy 7 Revelation.<\/p>\n<h2 id=\"is-there-a-final-fantasy-7-revelation-release-date\">Is there a Final Fantasy 7 Revelation release date?<\/h2>\n<p><strong>Final Fantasy 7 Revelation will launch in spring 2027 <\/strong>but Square Enix has not confirmed a specific date yet<strong>.<\/strong> Revelation is also the first game in the trilogy to launch on all platforms simultaneously, including PC. <\/p>\n<p>There are no PC store pages yet, but Revelation will be available on Steam, Epic Games Store, and Xbox for PC. So no store exclusivity deals this time around, either. <\/p>\n<h2 class=\"article-body__section\" id=\"section-final-fantasy-7-revelation-gameplay-details\"><span>Final Fantasy 7 Revelation gameplay details<\/span><\/h2>\n<div class=\"youtube-video\" data-nosnippet >\n<div class=\"video-aspect-box\"><iframe data-lazy-priority=\"high\" data-lazy-src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube-nocookie.com\/embed\/uVMg1Ub-6-Y\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<h3 id=\"what-s-notable-about-revelation-s-combat\">What&#8217;s notable about Revelation&#8217;s combat?<\/h3>\n<p>As the current mainline series drifts further from turn-based combat, it&#8217;s nice to see Final Fantasy 7 double down on its commitment to honoring the series roots. (I hope someone cracks a &#8220;where we droppin&#8217;?&#8221; at least once)<\/li>\n<li>Square Enix confirmed in an interview with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.polygon.com\/final-fantasy-7-remake-part-3-queens-blood-interview\/\">Polygon<\/a> that the Queen&#8217;s Blood card game will return, and it&#8217;s working on snowboarding<\/li>\n<li>The Tifa vs Scarlet slap fight is also a mini-game, according to <a href=\"https:\/\/news.denfaminicogamer.jp\/interview\/2606063n\">Denfaminico Gamer<\/a><\/li>\n<li>There&#8217;s new Chocobo content, but no details on what that includes<\/li>\n<li>Rebirth&#8217;s affinity system has been reworked to explore relationships between other party members, not just each character&#8217;s relationship with Cloud<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2 class=\"article-body__section\" id=\"section-final-fantasy-7-revelation-setting-and-story-details\"><span>Final Fantasy 7 Revelation setting and story details<\/span><\/h2>\n<div class=\"youtube-video\" data-nosnippet >\n<div class=\"video-aspect-box\"><iframe data-lazy-priority=\"low\" data-lazy-src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube-nocookie.com\/embed\/PH3ox5krci8\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<h3 id=\"the-remake-trilogy-is-the-same-story-but-different\">The Remake trilogy is the same story, but different<\/h3>\n<p>I&#8217;m speculating, but from what we&#8217;ve seen in Remake and Rebirth, it seems like Revelation will conclude the trilogy with a story that follows the same big beats as the original. In an interview with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bloomberg.com\/news\/newsletters\/2026-03-06\/-final-fantasy-vii-remake-director-teases-the-trilogy-s-finale\">Bloomberg<\/a>, Hamaguchi noted that Rebirth ends in the Forgotten City, and that the original RPG moves on to the Icicle Inn from there. <\/p>\n<p>As for the state of the rest of the world, we know Meteor has been summoned, so it&#8217;s not lookin&#8217; too good out there.
