The star of this one is Kratos&#8217; dead wife, Faye, whose body manifests in the afterlife after her burial rites. <\/p>\n<p>&#8220;To save the ones she loves, Faye must fight through the afterlife of the gods\u2014the Everywhen\u2014where ruthless gods from across mythology vie for power in a land overflowing with dangerous magic,&#8221; Santa Monica Studio said in <a href=\"https:\/\/blog.playstation.com\/2026\/06\/02\/first-look-at-god-of-war-laufey\/\" target=\"_blank\">a blog post<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The past three God of War games\u2014God of War (2018), God of War Ragnarok, and God of War Valhalla\u2014have all been ported to PC in what was a change of heart for Sony, which previously kept its prestige PlayStation exclusives console-only.<\/p>\n<p>Sony has had yet another change of heart, though, as we&#8217;ve heard reports of internal communications stating that it&#8217;s backing away from PC releases for its big singleplayer exclusives. <\/p>\n<p>As PC Gamer&#8217;s Morgan Park<a href=\"https:\/\/www.pcgamer.com\/gaming-industry\/sony-retreats-from-pc-gaming-robbing-us-of-maybe-4-games\/\"> speculated in response to the news<\/a>, the console wars are perhaps not quite over: &#8220;Much like Xbox&#8217;s renewed interest in its own box, Sony is responding to a waning interest in consoles by reinforcing its &#8216;narrative singleplayer games&#8217; as system sellers once again.&#8221;<\/p>\n<div style=\"min-height: 250px;\">\n<div class=\"kwizly-quiz kwizly-Wnmnqe\"><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<p> <script src=\"https:\/\/kwizly.com\/embed\/Wnmnqe.js\" async><\/script><\/p>\n<p>Sony will continue putting its multiplayer games on PC\u2014it&#8217;d be crazy not to after the success of Helldivers 2\u2014but unless it has yet another change of heart, don&#8217;t expect to see God of War Laufey or its other flagship exclusives on PC anytime soon.<\/p>\n<p>There&#8217;s another big console exclusive coming later this year: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pcgamer.com\/grand-theft-auto-6\/\">Grand Theft Auto 6<\/a>.
