Animals, meanwhile, generally prefer more open and wild regions of the map.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/arcader.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/03\/fortnite-crafting-how-to-collect-parts-and-craft-weapons.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"338\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-785420\"><\/p>\n<p>In addition, you&rsquo;ll be using other items &mdash; such as weapons, explosives, or meat &mdash; to craft special recipes.<\/p>\n<p><a id=\"section2\"><\/a><\/p>\n<h4>How to collect mechanical parts<\/h4>\n<\/p>\n<p>The main sources of mechanical parts in Fortnite are vehicles. Use your hammer to destroy cars, trucks, tractors, etc. and they&rsquo;ll drop the crafting parts you need.<\/p>\n<p>In my experience, each vehicle will usually drop a maximum of one mechanical part. It might drop before you fully destroy the vehicle, at which point you might as well move on unless you want the building parts too.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/arcader.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/03\/fortnite-crafting-how-to-collect-parts-and-craft-weapons-1.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"338\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-785408\"><\/p>\n<p>If you do fully destroy a vehicle, as ever just be aware that they do tend to explode, set on fire, and\/or shoot up in the air and land on you in protest. So just keep an eye out for that.<\/p>\n<p>Mechanical parts are mainly used to craft <strong>Mechanical weapons<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><a id=\"section3\"><\/a><\/p>\n<h4>How to collect animal bones<\/h4>\n<\/p>\n<p>Regrettably if you&rsquo;re an animal lover, this one is what it sounds like. You&rsquo;ll need to kill the wild animals that can now be found roaming the map and collect the bones that they drop. Currently your choices are <a href=\"https:\/\/www.vg247.com\/2021\/03\/17\/fortnite-primal-wolves\/\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>wolves<\/strong><\/a>, <strong>boars<\/strong>, <strong>chickens<\/strong>, and <strong>frogs<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/arcader.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/03\/fortnite-crafting-how-to-collect-parts-and-craft-weapons-2.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"338\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-785405\"><\/p>\n<p>(Though as you&rsquo;ll see, frogs drop a slightly different resource &mdash; but still one that&rsquo;s useful for crafting.)<\/p>\n<p>A few words of advice when it comes to hunting animals. First: your default hammer won&rsquo;t do much good against any of them. Chickens and frogs simply move too fast to land a hit on most of the time, and even when you do, the reduction to their HP is tiny. Meanwhile wolves and boars, while slower, will be actively trying to attack you, and getting in close with a melee weapon is more risky than it is rewarding.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/arcader.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/03\/fortnite-crafting-how-to-collect-parts-and-craft-weapons-3.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"338\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-785414\"><\/p>\n<p>Secondly, even the smaller, non-aggressive creatures have surprisingly large health bars. So pick up a weapon or two before you go hunting and be prepared to shoot even a humble chicken three or four times.<\/p>\n<p>Animal bones are mainly used to craft <strong>Primal weapons<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><a id=\"section4\"><\/a><\/p>\n<h3>How to craft weapons in Fortnite: Chapter 2 Season 6<\/h3>\n<\/p>\n<p>In order to craft a Primal or Mechanical weapon, you&rsquo;ll need to find a <strong>Makeshift<\/strong> version of that weapon to act as a base.<\/p>\n<p>Makeshift weapons are basically the same ones you&rsquo;ve always been able to pick up in various locations around Fortnite&rsquo;s map. But now the <strong>revolver<\/strong>, <strong>rifle<\/strong>, <strong>shotgun<\/strong>, <strong>submachine gun<\/strong>, and bow all have craftable upgrades.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/arcader.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/03\/fortnite-crafting-how-to-collect-parts-and-craft-weapons-4.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"338\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-785416\"><\/p>\n<p>Go into your Inventory and you&rsquo;ll notice a new Crafting tab. Go into it and you&rsquo;ll see everything you can currently craft using the items you have access to.<\/p>\n<p>Any items in your Inventory that can&rsquo;t be upgraded are greyed out, and there&rsquo;s a helpful hammer icon at the top of every inventory item which can be upgraded with parts you currently have on hand.<\/p>\n<p>Each item&rsquo;s entry in the crafting tab gives you a preview of what its stats will be after you craft the upgrade.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/arcader.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/03\/fortnite-crafting-how-to-collect-parts-and-craft-weapons-5.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"338\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-785403\"><\/p>\n<p>Upgrading any makeshift weapon with <strong>four mechanical parts<\/strong> will give you the classic version of that weapon. It&rsquo;s more or less the weapon that you&rsquo;re used to in Fortnite, but with improved stats compared to its makeshift base.<\/p>\n<p>Upgrading a makeshift weapon with <strong>four animal bones<\/strong> creates that weapon&rsquo;s <strong>Primal<\/strong> variant. They are less precise than classic weapons, but deal a lot of extra damage. Many of these weapons have an extra level of upgrade available to craft.<\/p>\n<p>Taking any classic weapon that&rsquo;s been upgraded with mechanical parts and combining it with two <strong>shockwave grenades<\/strong> creates a <strong>mechanical shockwave<\/strong> variant on that weapon.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/arcader.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/03\/fortnite-crafting-how-to-collect-parts-and-craft-weapons.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"300\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-785409\"><\/p>\n<p>Suitably for a season that features a wilderness theme and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.vg247.com\/2021\/03\/16\/fortnite-chapter-2-season-6-new-skins\/\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">a prominent Tomb Raider tie-in<\/a>, there&rsquo;s a heavy focus on cool bow upgrades.
