However, as things currently stand, it&#8217;s only officially supported on systems with Xe3-cored graphics chips\u2014i.e. Panther Lake only.<\/p>\n<p>Intel says support for older GPUs is on its way, but that hasn&#8217;t stopped <a data-analytics-id=\"inline-link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.reddit.com\/r\/IntelArc\/comments\/1qrm5jk\/trying_xess_3_on_b580_recording_fps_loss_1520\/\" target=\"_blank\">several Redditors<\/a> from messing around with Intel&#8217;s latest graphics drivers\u2014and apparently it&#8217;s surprisingly easy to enable XeSS 3 on most Intel graphics chips right now (via <a data-analytics-id=\"inline-link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.sweclockers.com\/nyhet\/42301-entusiaster-gor-intels-xess-mfg-tillganglig-for-mer-an-panther-lake\" target=\"_blank\">Sweclockers<\/a>). A quick bit of file swapping seems to do the trick, and commenters are reporting the benefits of multi-frame generation on both the <a data-analytics-id=\"inline-link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.pcgamer.com\/hardware\/graphics-cards\/intel-arc-b580-review\/\" target=\"_blank\">Intel Arc B580<\/a> and <a data-analytics-id=\"inline-link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.pcgamer.com\/intel-arc-a770-limited-edition-review-performance-benchmarks\/\" target=\"_blank\">Arc A770<\/a> desktop GPUs, among others.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"reddit-card\" ><p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.reddit.com\/r\/IntelArc\/comments\/1qrm5jk\/comment\/o2phr5e\">Comment<\/a> from <a href=\"https:\/\/www.reddit.com\/r\/IntelArc\">r\/IntelArc<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"\/\/embed.redditmedia.com\/widgets\/platform.js\" charset=\"UTF-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p>To enable XeSS 3 on older Intel chips, the methodology goes as follows: Extract the <a data-analytics-id=\"inline-link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.intel.com\/content\/www\/us\/en\/download\/785597\/intel-arc-graphics-windows.html\" target=\"_blank\">latest Intel driver<\/a> to a folder of your choosing, copy igxell.dl and igxess_fg.dll from folder 8362 and paste\/overwrite to folder 8452, remove your current graphics drivers with <a data-analytics-id=\"inline-link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.guru3d.com\/download\/display-driver-uninstaller-download\/\" target=\"_blank\">Display Driver Uninstaller<\/a>, and install the new ones from your modified folder.<\/p>\n<p>I don&#8217;t have an Intel GPU in front of me to test with at the moment, so I&#8217;ll add the usual proviso that your mileage may vary, and that it might be better to wait for an official release if you&#8217;re unsure of what you&#8217;re doing. I&#8217;m not going to lie, XeSS-FG is still going to be completely unplayable at that framerate on mouse and keyboard, but on controller it feels fine. If you gave this to me blind, I&#8217;d probably think it was running at 35-40 fps raster.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I&#8217;m going from 20-24 to 80-92 fps, though it really looks more like 50-60 with the frame pacing issues. Hopefully that&#8217;s something that can be sorted for the official release. Even if it isn&#8217;t, it&#8217;s still an incredible achievement.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Again, pinch of salt, your mileage may vary, etc etc. Still, it looks to be something of a red letter day for those running older Intel GPUs, and that&#8217;s pleasing to see. Intel drivers have often been patchy in our experience, but the company now says they&#8217;re &#8220;<a data-analytics-id=\"inline-link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.pcgamer.com\/hardware\/processors\/intel-says-its-graphics-drivers-are-now-light-years-ahead-of-where-we-were-a-few-years-ago-and-theyll-need-to-be-if-its-going-to-tempt-gamers-towards-its-new-igpus\/\" target=\"_blank\">light years ahead of where we were a few years ago<\/a>&#8220;.
