This game is a homage to the ’80s action platformers and hopes to bring back the blend of pure fun and challenge that was a staple of arcade classics. Prepare yourself for the craziest action platformer game ever and help our hero knight survive on this amazing adventure leaping from walls, over seas of lava, through pools of old spikes. Jump, slash, and dash across 32 levels of hardcore platforming challenges with a great retro pixel art design. Revive the glory of the 16-bit classics times in this adventure designed to satisfy players old and new.<\/p>\n

I’m Josep Monzon\u00eds, a solo indie game developer, and I love to play and make games. I like to create games with a very personal style. That’s why I’m in charge of every aspect of the process involved in making video games: pixel art, coding, game design and drawing. I’ve worked on several indie games previously but Horned Knight<\/em> is my last and most ambitious game; it has been in development for a long time.<\/p>\n

After getting the game playable enough to show to other people, I took it out to some local events where indie developers meetup to talk about games, make friends, and learn from each other. People really seemed to have fun playing, even as a super early demo.<\/p>\n

I brought a build to the Valencia Indie Summit and pitched it to the 2Awesome Studio. I was nervous, but they were encouraging and liked the concept. It was a dream come true to be developing my own game for a major console! <\/p>\n

As a life-long game developer, I\u2019ve been playing and making games for many years, but this is my first major console release of a personal project. I have always been a big fan of the retro styled 2D action platformer games and I just simply had to develop a game that would reintroduce the golden age of arcade gaming in a hardcore, retro-styled 2D action platformer game. I can\u2019t wait for you to get your hands on Horned Knight<\/a><\/strong><\/em> and let me know what you think! I hope it can reach the maximum number of people and that you all enjoy it.<\/p>\n

One small misstep can lead to your demise through 32 pulse pounding levels, offering various challenges from fireball wielding skeletons to venomous snakes, spike traps, pools of lava, and much more! Accessible and responsive controls make it easy to jump, air-dash, and slash your way through an area. Master the jumping wall climb technique and timed slashes to ensure your hero saves the greater realm! Make sure to hold onto the knight\u2019s heart pieces; his life depends on it!
