The new playable character will be part of a side story that will be released alongside <a href=\"https:\/\/www.polygon.com\/gaming\/609575\/warframe-2025-isleweaver-update-good\"><em>Warframe<\/em>\u2019s<\/a> year-end update, <em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.polygon.com\/gaming\/613839\/warframe-tennocon-tau-old-peace-expansion\">The Old Peace<\/a><\/em>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"has-text-align-none\">The new Frame was revealed at TennoCon, Digital Extremes\u2019 annual <em>Warframe<\/em> fan event. He\u2019s a hulking figure with flame-like highlights, as if his black armor were cracking to reveal hellfire beneath. Also, he\u2019s got a long, pointy tail, and I\u2019m sure everyone is going to be normal about it.<\/p>\n<p class=\"has-text-align-none\">Digital Extremes also revealed two new Protoframes that will appear with Uriel: Harrow and Wisp.<\/p>\n<p class=\"has-text-align-none\">Protoframes are, without getting too into spoilery lore stuff, more or less human versions of existing Warframes. They first appeared in the <em>1999<\/em> expansion in December 2024. Harrow\u2019s Protoframe is Father Lyon Allard, and Wisp\u2019s is Marie Leroux. They\u2019re the first Protoframes to be introduced since the <em>1999 <\/em>update \u2013 and boy, are they Catholic.<\/p>\n<p class=\"has-text-align-none\">Harrow is a priestlike Warframe who terrorizes the player in an early-game quest. He carries an incense burner called a thurible, and one of his abilities is to self-flagellate with it to increase his reload and fire rate. Father Lyon Allard form is equally goth, with midriff-baring leathery armor.<\/p>\n<p class=\"has-text-align-none\">Wisp, meanwhile, is an ethereal, floating enchantress. Unlike Harrow, this Warframe doesn\u2019t have overt religious imagery. The design is based on the folklore of will-o\u2019-wisps, fae lights that lure unwitting walkers to their death in bogs and swamps. But Marie Leroux is a beautiful nun-like figure with bright yellow eyes, who is definitely going to cause <a href=\"https:\/\/www.reddit.com\/r\/Warframe\/comments\/1m47ap9\/new_protoframes_and_new_warframe\/\">problems for the community<\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"has-text-align-none\">Together, the three characters make up something that creative director Rebecca Ford called \u201cthe Devil\u2019s Triad.\u201d She did not confirm why, where, or when their story will take place, only that it relates to the character of Albrecht Entrati \u201cand some Orokin guilt he might have,\u201d said Ford.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p class=\"has-text-align-none\">Uriel is a sentimental character for the <em>Warframe<\/em> team. It is the last frame that <a href=\"https:\/\/www.digitalextremes.com\/news\/remembering-mike-mynki-brennan\">late developer Mike Brennan<\/a> worked on before he passed away in 2024.<\/p>\n<p class=\"has-text-align-none\">\u201cThere\u2019s a lot of emotion tied into that frame,\u201d said Ford.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p class=\"has-text-align-none\">Digital Extremes will reveal more about the Devil\u2019s Triad in its October devstream.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p class=\"has-text-align-none\">\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.polygon.com\/gaming\/613713\/warframe-uriel-protoframe-harrow-wisp-tennocon\">Source<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Finally, there will be a Warframe for every letter of the alphabet \u2014 and the last to arrive is a devil-themed character named Uriel.
