Pok\u00e9mon Go<\/em><\/a> is having a Quaxly Community Day<\/strong> event on July 20 from 2-5 p.m. in your local time<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

As expected with a Community Day event, Quaxly will spawn in huge numbers with a high chance for it to appear shiny. There are also several other bonuses and perks, which we\u2019ve list out below.<\/p>\n

How do I catch a shiny Quaxly?<\/h2>\n

As per old research by the now-defunct website The Silph Road (via Wayback Machine<\/a>), Shiny rates on Community Days are about 1 in 24, which means that if you keep playing throughout the three-hour window, you should find quite a few shiny Pok\u00e9mon.<\/p>\n

If you\u2019re short on time or Pok\u00e9 Balls, you can pop an Incense, then quickly tap each Quaxly to check for shiny ones, running from any that aren\u2019t shiny. Notably, any Quaxly you\u2019ve already tapped will face where your player is standing, so that should help identify which ones you may have already checked.<\/p>\n

What Community Day move does Quaxly\u2019s evolution learn?<\/h2>\n

If you evolve Quaxwell into Quaquaval <\/strong>from July 20 at 2 p.m. until July 27 at 10 p.m.<\/strong> in your local time, it will learn Hydro Cannon<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

If you miss out on evolving it during this period, you will likely be able to evolve it during a Community Day weekend event in December to get whichever move, but know that since the evolution requirements are lessened during this event, it\u2019s easier to just do it now. If you don\u2019t want to wait, you can use an Elite TM<\/a> to get the move.<\/p>\n

How does Quaquaval do in the meta<\/h2>\n

Quaquavel is a decent PvE pick, but if you have the likes of Kyogre, Mega Swampert, Mega Blastoise, or even Primarina, you won\u2019t really need to invest in this one. That all being said, if you\u2019re a new player who still needs a decent water-type pick, you can totally invest in your Quaquavel and still be an asset to the team.<\/p>\n

As for PvP, even with Hydro Cannon at its side, it doesn\u2019t really make big moves in PvP either.<\/p>\n
