Here\u2019s how to get your very own copper golem.<\/p>\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\" \/>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"how-to-enable-copper-golems\">How to enable copper golems<\/h2>\n<p class=\"has-text-align-none\">As of this writing, copper golems are only available as an experimental feature on <em>Minecraft<\/em> Bedrock Edition, which means <strong>you can\u2019t spawn them in the default version of the game<\/strong>. As explained on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.minecraft.net\/en-us\/article\/a-new-friend-with-a-familiar-patina\"><em>Minecraft<\/em>\u2019s official website<\/a>, Copper Golems will be released as part of the third game drop of 2025, an upcoming copper-focused update.<\/p>\n<p class=\"has-text-align-none\">So, if you\u2019d like to test copper golems now, make sure you\u2019ve got Minecraft Bedrock Edition installed. Depending on your platform, here\u2019s <strong>how to enable experimental features<\/strong>:<\/p>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Windows PC and Xbox<\/strong>: Install <em>Minecraft<\/em> Preview. You can find it in the Microsoft Store or (if you have it) in the Game Pass app. If you\u2019re playing on PC, after downloading, you must open the <em>Minecraft<\/em> Launcher and select \u201clatest preview\u201d instead of \u201clatest release\u201d before hitting the play button.<\/li>\n<li><strong>iOS<\/strong>: Install the <a href=\"https:\/\/testflight.apple.com\/join\/qC1ZnReJ\">Testflight app<\/a> and follow the instructions. The available slots are limited, but you will be notified if a slot opens up.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Android<\/strong>: Open the Google Play Store, click on the <em>Minecraft <\/em>app, scroll down, and select \u201cJoin the Beta.\u201d<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"has-text-align-none\">No matter which platform you\u2019re using, be sure to activate experiments in the world settings. If you change to a different world, you have to enable this again.<\/p>\n<p class=\"has-text-align-none\">Copper golems are <strong>currently unavailable on Java Edition<\/strong>, but the <em>Minecraft<\/em> website promises that they\u2019ll be added on Java Snapshots soon. Once the copper golem has been released on Java Snapshot, you must open the <em>Minecraft<\/em> Launcher and select \u201cLatest Snapshot\u201d in the drop-down menu on the left (instead of the default \u201clatest release\u201d) before pressing the play button to enable it.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/arcader.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/how-to-make-and-use-a-copper-golem-in-minecraft-1.jpg\" alt=\"\" title=\"\" data-has-syndication-rights=\"1\" data-caption=\"\" data-portal-copyright=\"\" \/><\/p>\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\" \/>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"how-to-make-a-copper-golem\">How to make a copper golem<\/h2>\n<p class=\"has-text-align-none\">As copper golems do <em>not<\/em> spawn naturally, the only way to obtain one is through <a href=\"https:\/\/www.polygon.com\/minecraft-guides\/21432666\/starter-beginner-crafting-recipe-table-torches-planks\">crafting<\/a>. To create a copper golem, you must <strong>place either a carved pumpkin or a jack o&#8217;lantern on top of a copper block<\/strong> (normal pumpkins won\u2019t work).<\/p>\n<p class=\"has-text-align-none\">To obtain a copper block, use a stone pickaxe (or better) to mine <strong>raw copper<\/strong>. Copper veins look like grey stones with orange and greenish specks.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/arcader.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/how-to-make-and-use-a-copper-golem-in-minecraft-2.jpg\" alt=\"\" title=\"\" data-has-syndication-rights=\"1\" data-caption=\"\" data-portal-copyright=\"\" \/><\/p>\n<p class=\"has-text-align-none\">Once you\u2019ve got at least <strong>nine pieces of raw copper<\/strong>, place them inside a furnace to smelt them. You can fuel the furnace with wood or charcoal. Wait for the smelting to finish, and you\u2019ll have <strong>nine copper ingots<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"has-text-align-none\">Go to your crafting station and place one copper ingot in each of the nine resource slots. Click on the copper block in the window on the right to <strong>obtain a copper block<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"has-text-align-none\">To obtain a <strong>carved pumpkin<\/strong>, you must first locate a pumpkin in the wilds. They usually spawn in grassy biomes. Use any tool on the pumpkin to collect it, then use the <strong>shears<\/strong> tool (made from two iron ingots) on it to turn it into a carved pumpkin.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/arcader.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/how-to-make-and-use-a-copper-golem-in-minecraft-3.jpg\" alt=\"\" title=\"\" data-has-syndication-rights=\"1\" data-caption=\"\" data-portal-copyright=\"\" \/><\/p>\n<p class=\"has-text-align-none\">While you <em>can<\/em> change the carved pumpkin into a jack o&#8217;lantern by combining it with a torch at a crafting station, this isn\u2019t necessary to spawn a copper golem.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p class=\"has-text-align-none\">Place the copper block on the ground, equip the carved pumpkin in your right hand, and place it on the copper block. As you will notice, not only does this spawn a copper golem, but it also transforms the copper block into a <strong>copper chest<\/strong>. This copper chest is linked to the copper golem\u2019s task (more on that below).<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/arcader.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/how-to-make-and-use-a-copper-golem-in-minecraft-4.jpg\" alt=\"\" title=\"\" data-has-syndication-rights=\"1\" data-caption=\"\" data-portal-copyright=\"\" \/><\/p>\n<p class=\"has-text-align-none\">There\u2019s currently no copper golem spawn egg available in <em>Minecraft<\/em> Creative Mode, but you can spawn a copper golem the same way as described above.<\/p>\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\" \/>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"how-to-use-the-copper-golem\">How to use the copper golem<\/h2>\n<p class=\"has-text-align-none\">Copper golems function as adorable little housekeepers. They will <strong>automatically store and sort items<\/strong> for you by taking them from the copper chest (the one that spawned along with the golem itself) and placing them in normal storage chests. So, whenever you return from a mining trip, you can drop all your resources in the copper golem\u2019s chest and let the little guy put them away.<\/p>\n<p class=\"has-text-align-none\">If you destroyed the golem\u2019s original copper chest or if you want to move it, don\u2019t worry; <strong>the copper golem will use any copper chest<\/strong> within close vicinity. Keep in mind that the chest <em>must <\/em>be copper, or the golem will ignore it. For example, if you place two diamond chestplates in two separate, ordinary chests, the copper golem won\u2019t touch them. If you place one of these armor pieces inside a nearby copper chest, however, the golem will take it and store it in the same chest as the first diamond chestplate.<\/p>\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\" \/>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"how-to-change-your-copper-golem-s-color\">How to change your copper golem\u2019s color<\/h2>\n<p class=\"has-text-align-none\">Just like any other unwaxed copper item, <strong>the copper golem will oxidize over time<\/strong>. This doesn\u2019t seem to affect its performance at all, but if you prefer a red-brownish golem over a green-blueish one, you can take a honeycomb and use it on the golem.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/arcader.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/how-to-make-and-use-a-copper-golem-in-minecraft-5.jpg\" alt=\"\" title=\"\" data-has-syndication-rights=\"1\" data-caption=\"\" data-portal-copyright=\"\" \/><\/p>\n<p class=\"has-text-align-none\">Copper golems spawn with the same level of oxidation as the copper block you\u2019ve used, so if you used a fully oxidized piece, the copper golem will spawn fully oxidized as well.
