Nope, it&#8217;s even bigger than that"},"content":{"rendered":"<article>\n<p>Nvidia&#8217;s Jensen Huang announced the all-singing, all-dancing GB200 AI superchip back in March of 2024, as part of the <a data-analytics-id=\"inline-link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.pcgamer.com\/hardware\/graphics-cards\/nvidia-ceo-brings-out-a-monster-dual-gpu-blackwell-chip-at-gtc-heres-whats-it-tells-us-about-the-next-geforce-graphics-cards\/\" target=\"_blank\">Blackwell reveal<\/a> at GTC. However, it&#8217;s been difficult to get an impression of just how big one might be in person\u2014until now, that is.<\/p>\n<p>Dr. Moritz Lehmann has posted <a data-analytics-id=\"inline-link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.reddit.com\/r\/nvidia\/comments\/1l9k6d3\/handson_with_the_real_big_gpus_gb200_nvl72_grace\/\" target=\"_blank\">photos of the mighty AI mega-system<\/a> on the Nvidia subreddit, and I&#8217;ll spare teasing you any longer. It&#8217;s an absolute honker of a board, demonstrated by a helpfully-spread hand for scale in what looks suspiciously like a Vulcan salute:<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"reddit-card\" ><p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.reddit.com\/r\/nvidia\/comments\/1l9k6d3\/handson_with_the_real_big_gpus_gb200_nvl72_grace\">Hands-on with the real big GPUs: GB200 NVL72 &#8211; Grace CPU + 2x B200 180GB on each node, connected by 130TB\/s NVLink spine<\/a> from <a href=\"https:\/\/www.reddit.com\/r\/nvidia\">r\/nvidia<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"\/\/embed.redditmedia.com\/widgets\/platform.js\" charset=\"UTF-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p>The <a data-analytics-id=\"inline-link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.nvidia.com\/en-gb\/data-center\/gb200-nvl72\/#:~:text=GB200%20NVL72-,GB200%20Grace%20Blackwell%20Superchip,-Configuration\" target=\"_blank\">GB200 Grace Blackwell Superchip<\/a> consists of one 72-core Nvidia Grace CPU and two <a data-analytics-id=\"inline-link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.pcgamer.com\/hardware\/graphics-cards\/nvidia-had-already-sold-tens-of-thousands-of-blackwell-gpus-before-the-next-gen-architecture-was-announced\/\" target=\"_blank\">Blackwell AI GPUs<\/a> and can be configured with up to 372 GB of HBM3e memory, with a total bandwidth of 16 TB\/s. I don&#8217;t know about you, but I reckon those specs make the average gaming rig look a bit pedestrian. Mind you, it&#8217;s not like the average consumer could afford one.<\/p>\n<p>In response to a commenter asking how much a GB200 costs, Lehmann replied: &#8220;one entire NVL72 rack with 18 of these nodes goes for $3 million.&#8221; Ah, pretty affordable then. I&#8217;ll take two, don&#8217;t cash the cheque until Tuesday.<\/p>\n<p>There&#8217;s also a rather tasty shot of the NVLink spine, which was <a data-analytics-id=\"inline-link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/live\/TLzna9__DnI?si=bUpdmIEfi8VCi5c0&#038;t=2341\" target=\"_blank\">held up by Huang himself<\/a> at Computex 2025. It contains 5,000 cables making for a combined length of two miles, and has a total bandwidth capacity of 130 TB\/s. Or, as Huang memorably put it, &#8220;the peak traffic of the entire internet is 900 terabits per second. Divide that by eight. <a data-analytics-id=\"inline-link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.pcgamer.com\/hardware\/nvidias-jen-hsun-huang-boasts-that-one-spine-of-its-new-nvlink-fusion-tech-can-move-more-traffic-than-the-entire-internet\/\" target=\"_blank\">This moves more traffic than the entire internet<\/a>.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s also got lots of orange connectors. That&#8217;s my contribution to the discussion here. I like orange and black. Together they look nice. Also the GB200 is very large, very powerful, and very expensive.
