The Switch 2 is finally here<\/a>, and so are its various launch titles<\/a>. But unlike the launch of the Switch 1 \u2014 which saw everyone and their mother eagerly diving into Breath of the Wild<\/em> \u2014 the Switch 2 isn\u2019t launching alongside a massive new RPG from a beloved Nintendo franchise. It is, however, launching alongside a massive RPG: Cyberpunk 2077<\/em><\/a>.<\/p>\n

Cyberpunk 2077: Ultimate Edition<\/em> is the only non-Nintendo RPG on the Switch 2 launch title list, so it\u2019s likely to see a good amount of players. Of course, you can still relive Breath of the Wild<\/em>\u2019s glory days or dive into Tears of the Kingdom<\/em> \u2014 both games have Switch 2 versions available to purchase \u2014 but if you\u2019ve had enough of Hyrule (or are just looking for something a bit more gritty), it might be time to check out Night City.<\/p>\n

For those of us who witnessed Cyberpunk\u2019s notoriously bumpy launch, \u201cCyberpunk running on a Switch\u201d may sound like a recipe for disaster, but so far, the game seems to be performing quite well according to folks who have booted it up. It uses Nvidia\u2019s DLSS upscaling to ensure Night City appears vibrant and alive, and features both a performance mode (targeting 40 frames per second at 1080p when docked or 720p when handheld) and a quality mode which aims for 30fps at 1080p regardless of whether the Switch 2 is in docked mode or handheld mode.<\/p>\n

The Switch 2\u2019s Joy-Con 2 controllers also add some additional variety to gameplay, allowing players to use motion controls to attack enemies with a katana. Even CD Projekt Red agrees that the Switch 2 experience is optimal. Lead programmer Charles Tremblay described it<\/a> as \u201cthe best way to experience the game on the go.\u201d<\/p>\n

Cyberpunk 2077: Ultimate Edition<\/em> includes both the base game and the award-winning Phantom Liberty DLC, making it ideal for seasoned Netrunners and Night City newbies alike.<\/p>\n
