Netflix\u2019s docu-series output is rarely a point of concern for those of us at Polygon, but when I get an email that says \u201cPoop Cruise\u201d is coming this summer to the streamer, I feel compelled to issue a warning. Consider yourself warned.<\/p>\n

Poop Cruise<\/em>, from director James Ross, is one chapter of Trainwreck<\/em>, a new eight-part documentary anthology rolling out on Netflix throughout June and July. According to a news release, each film \u201cfocuses on some of the wildest and most bizarre events ever to blow up in mainstream media.\u201d One of them is about a poop cruise.<\/p>\n

The poop cruise in question was not meant to be a poop cruise, believe it or not. Ross\u2019 doc will dive down the rabbit hole<\/s> drain of an incident from 2013<\/a> involving a four-day round-trip Carnival cruise trip from Galveston, Texas to Cozumel, Mexico. Mid-trip, an engine room fire left the ocean linear adrift at sea without functioning power \u2014 and toilets that overflowed with raw sewage. Poop cruise.<\/p>\n

Trainwreck<\/em> will also cover everything from the Balloon Boy hoax<\/a> to the kids who flocked to Area 51 and did the Naruto Run on local news<\/a>. But Poop Cruise<\/em> stands out as the main event, somehow both a high and low point on the scale of \u201chistorical moments that needed to have documentaries.\u201d Talk about some crap to watch!<\/p>\n

Mark your calendars and pull up a stool: Poop Cruise<\/em> premieres on Netflix on June 24. <\/p>\n
