Out of habit, I immediately scrolled to the \u201cGame file size\u201d section on each page to see how much storage each game will require. Some Switch 2 game file sizes are bigger than I expected, closer in size to Windows PC counterparts than original Switch ports were.<\/p>\n<p class=\"has-text-align-none\">This makes sense given that Nintendo\u2019s upcoming console is powerful enough to run games at 1080p and beyond at fast frame rates. And yet, it\u2019ll only take a handful of games to completely fill up your Switch 2\u2019s built-in 256 GB storage. Here are some file sizes of forthcoming Switch 2 ports:<\/p>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.nintendo.com\/us\/store\/products\/ea-sports-madden-nfl-26-switch-2\/\">Madden NFL 26<\/a><\/em> will be a 62 GB download<\/li>\n<li><em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.nintendo.com\/us\/store\/products\/split-fiction-switch-2\/\">Split Fiction<\/a><\/em> will be 73 GB<\/li>\n<li><em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.nintendo.com\/us\/store\/products\/cyberpunk-2077-ultimate-edition-switch-2\/\">Cyberpunk 2077: Ultimate Edition<\/a><\/em> and <em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.nintendo.com\/us\/store\/products\/hitman-world-of-assassination-signature-edition-switch-2\/\">Hitman World of Assassination: Signature Edition<\/a><\/em> will each be around 59 GB<\/li>\n<li>Even <em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.nintendo.com\/us\/store\/products\/yakuza-0-directors-cut-switch-2\/\">Yakuza 0 Director\u2019s Cut<\/a><\/em> comes in at 53.7 GB.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"has-text-align-none\">All of those games together clock in at just over 300 GB \u2014 now you need a microSD Express card.<\/p>\n<p class=\"has-text-align-none\">As usual, Nintendo\u2019s first-party games are among the tiniest Switch 2 games in terms of install sizes. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nintendo.com\/us\/store\/products\/mario-kart-world-switch-2\/\"><em>Mario Kart World<\/em><\/a> is 23.4 GB, while <em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.nintendo.com\/us\/store\/products\/donkey-kong-bananza-switch-2\/\">Donkey Kong Bananza<\/a><\/em> is, somehow, just 10 GB. Switch 2 Edition upgrade packs range in size, with <em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.nintendo.com\/us\/store\/products\/the-legend-of-zelda-tears-of-the-kingdom-nintendo-switch-2-edition-upgrade-pack-switch-2\/\">Tears of the Kingdom<\/a><\/em> taking up an extra 3.6 GB beyond the base install, and <em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.nintendo.com\/us\/store\/products\/kirby-and-the-forgotten-land-nintendo-switch-2-edition-plus-star-crossed-world-upgrade-pack-switch-2\/\">Kirby and the Forgotten Land<\/a><\/em> taking up an extra 11 GB.<\/p>\n<p class=\"has-text-align-none\">It might seem nuts to buy add-on storage for a console you don\u2019t yet possess, but we think it\u2019s smart to grab the biggest microSD Express card you can afford for use in the Switch 2. They\u2019re much faster (and pricier) compared to the microSD cards used in the Switch and other devices like the Steam Deck.
