Pok\u00e9mon Go<\/em><\/a> is having a Vanillite Community Day <\/strong>event on April 27 from 2-5 p.m. <\/strong>in your local time.<\/p>\n

As expected with a Community Day event, Vanillite will spawn in huge numbers with a high chance for it to appear shiny. There are also several other bonuses and perks, which we\u2019ve list out below.<\/p>\n

How do I catch a shiny Vanillite in Pok\u00e9mon Go?<\/h2>\n

As per old research by the now-defunct website The Silph Road (via Wayback Machine<\/a>), Shiny rates on Community Days are about 1 in 24, which means that if you keep playing throughout the three-hour window, you should find quite a few shiny Pok\u00e9mon.<\/p>\n

If you\u2019re short on time or Pok\u00e9 Balls, you can pop an Incense, then quickly tap each Vanillite to check for shiny ones, running from any that aren\u2019t shiny. Notably, any Vanillite you\u2019ve already tapped will face where your player is standing, so that should help identify which ones you may have already checked.<\/p>\n

What Community Day move does Vanillite\u2019s evolution learn?<\/h2>\n

If you evolve Vanillish into<\/strong> Vanilluxe <\/strong>starting on April 27 at 2 p.m. until May 4 at 10 p.m. in your local time, it will learn the charged move Avalanche<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

If you miss out on evolving it during this period, you will likely be able to evolve it during a Community Day weekend event in December to get Avalanche. If you don\u2019t want to wait, you can use an Elite TM<\/a> to get the move.<\/p>\n

How does Vanilluxe do in the meta<\/h2>\n

Unfortunately, Vanilluxe and its pre-evolutions have no space in any of the high-intensity Pok\u00e9mon Go<\/em> content, whether it\u2019s PvE (raids and gyms) or PvP. I don\u2019t recommend investing Stardust into it unless you just really like this Pok\u00e9mon \u2014 in which case, let them (you) eat ice cream.<\/p>\n
