One of the more surprising features arriving with the Nintendo Switch 2<\/a> is the ability to hook up a camera to your console to use in tandem with its new GameChat functionality<\/a>. The Discord-like feature allows to chat with friends and see each other while playing Mario Kart World<\/a><\/em> or other online multiplayer games.<\/p>\n

If you\u2019d like to pre-order the official Switch 2 camera ahead of the June 5 launch, you can currently reserve one for $54.99 from Walmart<\/a>, Best Buy<\/a>, GameStop<\/a>, Target<\/a>,<\/a> or Nintendo<\/a>. (Note: GameStop online pre-orders don\u2019t open until 11 a.m. EDT.) <\/p>\n

While it\u2019s been confirmed that Switch 2 will support a variety of third-party USB-C webcams<\/a>, Nintendo\u2019s official camera is a somewhat affordable option that comes with a built-in stand and privacy shutter (the microphone is built into the Switch 2 itself). There will be an app built into the Switch 2 that tests compatibility of non-Nintendo webcams.<\/p>\n

The Switch 2 camera was originally going to launch at $49.99, but Nintendo increased the prices<\/a> of almost all of the Switch 2 accessories following news of tariffs, though the cost of the console remains unchanged.<\/p>\n

This and many other accessories will be hitting shelves June 5 \u2014 the same day as the Switch 2 console itself. The Switch 2 is available to pre-order now for $449.99 through\u00a0Best Buy<\/a>,\u00a0Walmart<\/a>,\u00a0GameStop<\/a>, and\u00a0more retailers<\/a>, along with plenty of other Switch 2 accessories<\/a>, Switch 2 games<\/a>, and new Zelda amiibo<\/a><\/p>\n
