During the most recent Nintendo Direct showcase, the company showed off a new tactical RPG<\/a> for fans to dive into with Project Triangle Strategy. While the game itself won’t arrive until next year, a demo is available now (though the link is broken at the time this article was written).\u00a0<\/p>\n

Project Triangle Strategy is the latest tactical RPG from Square Enix that offers a play experience very much like Octopath Traveler, which makes sense given that this game is meant to be the spiritual successor. The game itself promises to offer a thrilling story filled with a narrative haunted by choice and consequence. Players will need to strategically approach every battle as if it is their last in order to stay on top.\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

With new special effects meant to increase the artistic appeal, Octopath fans have a lot to look forward to with this title even if some are already asking for a name change.<\/p>\n

According to Nintendo:\u00a0<\/p>\n

Command a group of warriors as Serenoa, heir to the Kingdom of Glenbrook in a tangled plot where your decisions make all the difference. Key choices you make will bolster one of three convictions\u2014Utility, Morality, Liberty\u2014which together make up Serenoa\u2019s world view and influence how the story will unfold. When faced with truly momentous decisions, multiple characters will weigh in by casting their votes on the Scales of Conviction. In these moments, the allies and decisions you make can determine the fate of whole nations and the continent of Norzelia itself.<\/p>\n

Finding the best location in turn-based battles can tip the tide of combat in your favor. Position units on higher ground to take control of the battlefield and gain the advantage with increased range. You can also flank enemies on both sides, then strike from behind for a powerful follow-up attack. Elemental chain reactions are also an important part of combat. For example, use fire to melt icy terrain, then use lightning to electrocute it. Push the enemy into the electrified water to see sparks fly!<\/p>\n<\/section>\n

The Project Triangle Strategy is available now as a demo right here<\/a>, but the full title itself won’t arrive until sometime in 2022.\u00a0<\/p>\n
