I was making it as a form of self-therapy. I have been struggling with long COVID the past few years and I wanted to prove to myself that I can still make games in my current state.\u201d<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<div>\n<div><iframe title=\"Playdate Update #7 - 04\/17\/25\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/H4faUwfDw5o?rel=0\" allowfullscreen allow=\"accelerometer; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share;\"><\/iframe><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/figure>\n<p class=\"has-text-align-none\">Playdate Season 2 begins on May 29, with two games releasing every week over the course of six weeks, for $39. The season will also include platformer <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=GFoa6dp9dps\"><em>Taria &amp; Como<\/em><\/a>, adventure game <a href=\"https:\/\/play.date\/games\/shadowgate-pd\/\"><em>Shadowgate PD<\/em><\/a>, and digging game <a href=\"https:\/\/play.date\/games\/dig-dig-dino\/\"><em>Dig Dig Dino!<\/em><\/a>, along with \u201ca must see surprise for all those who want something\u2026.a little different,\u201d according to a press release.<\/p>\n<p class=\"has-text-align-none\">Playdate\u2019s first season launched free with the console in 2022, though due to the slow rollout of hardware players didn\u2019t all get to download each game together each week as originally planned. The season consisted of 24 games including <em>Crankin\u2019s Time Travel Adventure<\/em> from <em>Katamari Damacy<\/em> creator Keita Takahashi and <em>Whitewater Wipeout<\/em> from Chuhai Labs.<\/p>\n<p class=\"has-text-align-none\">Panic also announced earlier this week that it has sold more than 289,000 games through its Playdate Catalog store, totaling more than a million dollars paid to developers.
