Nintendo\u2019s Switch 2 has exactly one weird and exciting new feature: The Joy-Con 2 can be used like a mouse<\/a>. And it works well \u2014 even on pants! But only a few titles so far have confirmed support<\/a> for the new hardware, including Metroid Prime 4: Beyon<\/em>d, and a new game announced Monday: Mouse Work<\/em>.<\/p>\n

Mouse Work<\/em> is a party game<\/a> for 1-4 players who can use the Joy-Con 2 mouse controls to play minigames as, well, mice. It\u2019s a mouse on a mouse, really: You use the Joy-Con 2\u2019s mouse mode to play as a cartoon mouse-shaped cursor. You might have to shoot your opponent with a laser gun, work with your teammates to make it through a maze, or quickly close out pop-up spam (like in the indie demo Mindwave<\/em><\/a> we covered during Steam Next Fest).<\/p>\n

Of course, the team at studio Nitrome \u2014 who also made mobile game spinoff Shovel Knight Dig<\/em> \u2014 couldn\u2019t make its trailer using the Switch 2, which hasn\u2019t been released yet and is due out June 5<\/a>. It used a PC to capture the colorful footage shown in the trailer \u2014 but as long as the Joy-Con 2 mouse setting works as well as Nintendo has suggested it does, this game looks like a winner for the couch co-op fanatics out there. <\/p>\n

No release date has yet been announced for Mouse Work<\/em>, but the developer says, \u201c[it] will release hot on the tail of the Nintendo Switch 2.\u201d<\/p>\n
