A new report from <a href=\"https:\/\/insider-gaming.com\/nintendo-switch-2-pre-order-plans\/\">Insider Gaming<\/a>, citing documents from an unnamed \u201clarge U.S. retailer,\u201d says pre-orders for Switch 2 will open a week later, on April 9.<\/p>\n<p class=\"has-text-align-none\">Nintendo itself hasn\u2019t announced when pre-orders for Switch 2 will go live, so it\u2019s unclear if the company will start taking pre-orders the same day it holds its <a href=\"https:\/\/www.polygon.com\/nintendo-switch-2\/452161\/switch-2-nintendo-direct-april-2025-date\">Nintendo Direct: Switch 2 showcase<\/a> (April 2), or if it will give us another week to consider the next-gen system\u2019s merits. Polygon has reached out to Nintendo for comment and will update when the company responds.<\/p>\n<p class=\"has-text-align-none\">While Nintendo hasn\u2019t announced a release date or price for its new system, Switch 2 is expected to launch in early June, meaning that pre-orders would likely be open for about two months.<\/p>\n<p class=\"has-text-align-none\">In between Nintendo\u2019s full reveal of Switch 2 and its expected launch, the company will hold a series of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.polygon.com\/nintendo\/509754\/nintendo-switch-2-preview-events-dates-hands-on\">hands-on Nintendo Switch 2 Experience events<\/a> across the globe.<\/p>\n<p class=\"has-text-align-none\">Anticipation for the Switch successor is high, and Nintendo is reportedly <a href=\"https:\/\/www.polygon.com\/nintendo-switch-2\/539639\/nintendo-switch-2-analysts-launch-price-predictions\">stockpiling a large number of Switch 2 consoles<\/a> to meet that demand.
