The good news for spice enthusiasts is that the system requirements look surprisingly light, although you&#8217;ll still need a decent chunk of storage space to contain all those bum-rumbling ornithopters.<\/p>\n<p>Oh yes, Dune: Awakening supports Razer Chroma RGB and Razer Sensa HD Haptics, meaning it can be synced up to the <a data-analytics-id=\"inline-link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.pcgamer.com\/hardware\/gaming-chairs\/razer-freyja-review\/\" target=\"_blank\">Razer Freyja<\/a> haptic gaming cushion to vibrate your posterior\u2014or as Funcom puts it, &#8220;feel the rumble of your ornithopter\u2019s seat.&#8221; Our Nick <a data-analytics-id=\"inline-link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.pcgamer.com\/hardware\/gaming-chairs\/i-honestly-thought-razers-sensa-haptics-stuff-was-just-a-gimmick-until-i-tried-it-with-a-sim-racing-setup-and-now-im-absolutely-sold\/\" target=\"_blank\">used one for sim racing<\/a> recently and enjoyed the results, so perhaps this game might deliver more glute-shaking giggles.<\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s nice to see the old stalwart <a data-analytics-id=\"inline-link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.pcgamer.com\/nvidia-might-have-forgotten-the-venerable-gtx-1060-but-amds-new-frame-generation-tech-proves-theres-life-in-the-old-gpu-yet\/\" target=\"_blank\">GTX 1060<\/a> appear on this list under a minimum requirement for a modern game once more, although it&#8217;s worth noting that no target resolutions or settings have been announced. I&#8217;d assume 1080p Low settings for the ageing card, however, as from what I&#8217;ve seen so far Dune: Awakening looks like a fairly graphically intensive game.<\/p>\n<p>Stepping things up to recommended results in a fair jump in both CPU and GPU horsepower, as the <a data-analytics-id=\"inline-link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.intel.com\/content\/www\/us\/en\/products\/sku\/199335\/intel-core-i710700k-processor-16m-cache-up-to-5-10-ghz\/specifications.html\" target=\"_blank\">Core i7 10700K<\/a> is still a decent chip even in 2025, and the <a data-analytics-id=\"inline-link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.pcgamer.com\/nvidia-rtx-3070-review-founders-edition-benchmarks\/\" target=\"_blank\">RTX 3070<\/a> is still an excellent GPU for 1440p gaming. There&#8217;s also DLSS 4, FSR, and XeSS 2 support for upscaling help, although the exact FSR version is still unknown.<\/p>\n<p>Still, <a data-analytics-id=\"inline-link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.pcgamer.com\/hardware\/graphics-cards\/nvidia-announces-dlss-4-with-multi-frame-generation-says-it-can-help-multiply-frame-rates-by-up-to-8x-over-traditional-brute-force-rendering\/\" target=\"_blank\">DLSS 4&#8217;s Multi Frame Generation<\/a> should certainly speed frame rates along for RTX 50-series card owners, although by the looks of these relatively light specs it probably won&#8217;t be necessary for smooth frames on any currently released latest generation Nvidia GPU.<\/p>\n<div class=\"youtube-video\" data-nosnippet >\n<div class=\"video-aspect-box\"><iframe data-lazy-priority=\"low\" data-lazy-src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/gl6Wi20fSp0\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>What&#8217;s also interesting is the RAM requirement, 16 GB for both minimum and recommended specs. I&#8217;d wager that most of you reading with a machine that can hit the minimum or the recommended specs already have 16 GB of RAM installed, but those of you holding back on a 32 GB upgrade look like you won&#8217;t have much trouble getting the best out of this particular game.<\/p>\n<p>Storage-wise you&#8217;ll need 60-75 GB of free space, which again seems mercifully light in this era of <a data-analytics-id=\"inline-link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.pcgamer.com\/games\/action\/god-of-war-ragnarok-needs-a-chonky-190-gb-of-ssd-space-but-the-rest-of-the-system-requirements-seem-pretty-reasonable\/\" target=\"_blank\">100 GB+ install sizes<\/a>, although it&#8217;s not an insignificant amount of space. Again though, given that the game seems to be fairly expansive (as our Josh found in his <a data-analytics-id=\"inline-link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.pcgamer.com\/games\/mmo\/after-7-hours-dune-awakening-might-be-the-mix-of-survival-and-rpg-that-finally-wins-me-over-to-the-genre\/\" target=\"_blank\">Dune: Awakening hands on preview<\/a>), it&#8217;s pretty light touch stuff in TYOL 2025.<\/p>\n<p>That just leaves the haptics to talk about, and I&#8217;ll admit, I&#8217;m curious as to what a Razer Freyja cushion can add to the experience in this game. The furiously buzzing wings of an <a data-analytics-id=\"inline-link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.pcgamer.com\/games\/mmo\/dune-awakening-confirms-air-to-air-combat-in-ornithopters\/\" target=\"_blank\">ornithopter<\/a> seem like the perfect use case for some immersive arse-fizzing sensations, although perhaps I&#8217;m getting ahead of myself there.<\/p>\n<p>Regardless, pre-orders will soon be available on the <a data-analytics-id=\"inline-link\" href=\"https:\/\/store.steampowered.com\/app\/1172710\/Dune_Awakening\/\" target=\"_blank\">Dune: Awakening Steam page<\/a>, and the devs seem pretty proud of skipping Early Access entirely and going straight for a day one full release strategy. Gosh, this is all rather refreshing, isn&#8217;t it? Achievable system requirements, no subscription, <em>and <\/em>a full release at launch?
