The first time around, Charizard was pretty hard to beat, but now there are a few more Dynamax Pok\u00e9mon that can help you take it down when it returns on March 8 and 9.<\/p>\n<p class=\"has-text-align-none\">Even still, Gigantamax Charizard can be tough to beat \u2014 and it doesn\u2019t have nearly the amount of good new counters that its fellow starters now have. That being said, you\u2019ll want to be as prepared as possible before attempting this fight.<\/p>\n<p class=\"has-text-align-none\">Below, we list Gigantamax Charizard\u2019s weaknesses and best counters in <em>Pok\u00e9mon Go<\/em>, as well as general tips for taking it down.<\/p>\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\" \/>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading has-text-align-none\" id=\"gigantamax-charizard-weakness\">Gigantamax Charizard weakness<\/h2>\n<p class=\"has-text-align-none\">Being fire- and flying-type, Charizard has a few weaknesses: <strong>rock<\/strong>-, <strong>water<\/strong>-, and <strong>electric<\/strong>-type moves. Unfortunately, there\u2019s still not really any rock-type Pok\u00e9mon to take advantage of Charizard\u2019s extra vulnerability to the typing, <em>but<\/em> there are lots of water- and electric-types you can use.<\/p>\n<p class=\"has-text-align-none\">Charizard is resistant against a lot of different move types: fighting-, bug-, steel-, fire-, grass-, and fairy-types. That being said, don\u2019t bring those move types unless you\u2019re using them to build up the max gauge quickly.<\/p>\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\" \/>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading has-text-align-none\" id=\"gigantamax-charizard-best-counters\">Gigantamax Charizard best counters<\/h2>\n<p class=\"has-text-align-none\">For your damage-dealing Pok\u00e9mon, you should try to bring at least one of the following:<\/p>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Gigantamax Kingler<\/strong> with Bubble<\/li>\n<li><strong>Gigantamax Toxtricity<\/strong> with Spark<\/li>\n<li><strong>Dynamax Inteleon<\/strong> with Water Gun<\/li>\n<li><strong>Dynamax Zapdos<\/strong> with Thunder Shock<\/li>\n<li><strong>Dynamax Kingler<\/strong> with Bubble<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"has-text-align-none\">For tanks, you should try to bring one or two of the following with the Max Guard ability:<\/p>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Gigantamax Charizard<\/strong> with Dragon Breath<\/li>\n<li><strong>Dynamax Charizard <\/strong>with Dragon Breath<\/li>\n<li><strong>Dynamax Blastoise <\/strong>with Bite<\/li>\n<li><strong>Gigantamax Blastoise <\/strong>with Bite<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"has-text-align-none\">Even if you don\u2019t have these powered up, consider just bringing the&nbsp;<em>strongest<\/em>&nbsp;Dynamax Pok\u00e9mon you have. If you have a maxed out Dynamax Gengar and your Dynamax Zapdos isn\u2019t leveled (and you don\u2019t have the means to power it up), just bring your Gengar.<\/p>\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\" \/>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading has-text-align-none\" id=\"general-gigantamax-charizard-tips\">General Gigantamax Charizard tips<\/h2>\n<p class=\"has-text-align-none\">If you\u2019ve been struggling in Max Battles, here\u2019s some general tips to survive \u2014 and make sure you\u2019re an asset to your team. Gigantamax battles involve way more strategy than the usual rampant tapping that you do in raids, so make sure to know what you\u2019re doing before jumping in.<\/p>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Make sure you have enough players.<\/strong>&nbsp;High-efficiency groups with maxed out investments can take down the Charizard with fewer people, but practically, if you don\u2019t have hundreds of spare candy and even more Stardust laying around, this isn\u2019t going to be an option for you. Make sure you have as many people as possible to ensure that you get your fiery lizard.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Don\u2019t sleep on Max Spirit and Max Guard<\/strong>. Teams work best when there\u2019s a variety of moves, not just maxed-out attacks. Each player should bring Pok\u00e9mon with the defensive and healing moves unlocked as well. Max Guard will focus single-target damage towards you and reduce the damage taken; Max Spirit will heal the whole party. These moves are really important to make sure your damage-dealers can keep dishing.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Remember to swap to super effective moves when it\u2019s time to Dynamax<\/strong>. For&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.polygon.com\/pokemon-go-guide\/449273\/dynamax-pokemon-get-catch-max-battles\">Dynamax Pok\u00e9mon<\/a>, their max moves are determined by whatever type their fast move is. This means if you have a Darmanitan with Fire Fang, it will know Max Flare. A Gengar with Lick will know Max Phantasm. Take advantage of this and make sure to swap to a Pok\u00e9mon that will deal super effective damage to your target before Dynamaxing, if you can.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Focus on your fast moves<\/strong>. You want to spam your fast moves to build up that Dynamax meter and often times, using your charge move is actually a DPS loss when compared to the damage you could be doing with your max move will be. Spam those attacks!<\/li>\n<li><strong>Level up a few \u2018mons, but you don\u2019t have to go too hard<\/strong>. Depending on your group size, you absolutely do not need to max out all your Dynamax Pok\u00e9mon to level 40-50. While this will make it easier on the rest of your group, if this isn\u2019t an investment you can make, you don\u2019t have to stress about it. Power things up as high as you can afford to, but don\u2019t fret if you don\u2019t have a maxed out Pok\u00e9mon.<\/li>\n<li>That all being said,&nbsp;<strong>make sure to come as prepared as you can be<\/strong>. This is a team effort and there\u2019s a chance that a full group of four can still fail. Do not just bring your unleveled&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.polygon.com\/pokemon-go-guide\/447546\/to-the-max-special-research-quest-rewards\">Dynamax Wooloo<\/a>&nbsp;expecting a free ride to a powerful Pok\u00e9mon. (After all, if&nbsp;<em>everyone<\/em>&nbsp;does that, then you certainly won\u2019t clear the battle.) Again, you don\u2019t have to completely max out your Pok\u00e9mon, but it will be better for everyone involved if you bring something helpful to the table.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Keep your eye out for a shiny Charizard!<\/strong>&nbsp;If you clear the raid, there is a chance that the Charizard you catch will be shiny \u2014 which also means it\u2019ll be a guaranteed catch.
