2023\u2019s beloved RoboCop: Rogue City<\/a><\/em> is getting a sequel later this year. Developer Teyon revealed a follow-up to its love letter to Paul Verhoeven\u2019s original RoboCop<\/em> on Thursday, and the studio\u2019s new game is giving big Dredd<\/a><\/em> energy.<\/p>\n

RoboCop: Rogue City – Unfinished Business<\/em>, described as a \u201cstandalone extension set after the events\u201d of Rogue City<\/em>, will send players into a towering, OCP-built housing complex which has been taken over by heavily armed mercenaries. RoboCop must fight his way to the top of that deadly fortress in his ongoing mission to protect the innocent and uphold the law.<\/p>\n

Unfinished Business<\/em> will feature the same first-person gameplay from RoboCop: Rogue City<\/em>, but will introduce new enemies and weapons. RoboCop must now face flying drones and anti-personnel turrets, as well as armored creeps wielding massive miniguns. Also new? Katana-wielding cyborgs<\/a> and jet packs<\/a>, according to the game\u2019s official description<\/a>, which could potentially retraumatize franchise fans who have seen RoboCop 3<\/em>. ED-209 is also back, of course.<\/p>\n

Robo will have new tools to take down his targets, however, including a Cryo Cannon \u2014 and apparently some exploding icy barrels \u2014 with which to literally freeze his foes.<\/p>\n

While the main component of RoboCop: Rogue City – Unfinished Business<\/em> appears to be inspired by action movies like Dredd<\/em> and The Raid<\/a> series, there appear to be other missions included in the new game. Players will also take on the role of Alex Murphy, before he became RoboCop, in \u201cunique missions with familiar faces which reveal more of the storyline of Unfinished Business<\/em>,\u201d Nacon says. Peter Weller is back to voice Murphy\/RoboCop.<\/p>\n

RoboCop: Rogue City – Unfinished Business<\/em>, is slated for release on PlayStation 5, Windows PC, and Xbox Series X this summer. As a stand-alone game, it won\u2019t require owning the original RoboCop: Rogue City<\/em>, which is currently on sale for $9.99<\/a>.<\/p>\n
