The Dead Man\u2019s Mail<\/strong> treasure map challenges you to find a specific ruin in Shatterscarp, though there\u2019s no shortage of similar-looking locations in Avowed<\/u><\/a>\u2019s desert region. Shatterscarp is also much larger and more challenging than previous regions like Dawnshore, so it\u2019ll make finding the treasure all the more difficult.<\/p>\n

To save you from scouring Shatterscarp for the correct rubble, I <\/em>scoured Shatterscarp for the correct rubble instead. Thankfully, there are some clues hidden in this treasure map, namely the large bell and the tower, which help narrow the search. And if you\u2019re yet to get this map, you can find it on a skeleton in a tent directly under the \u2018sea\u2019 area marker in the Great Sand Sea.<\/p>\n

The Dead Man\u2019s Mail treasure is hidden in a small ruin overlooking a Xaurip camp to the north of Shark\u2019s Teeth<\/strong> in northern Shatterscarp, between Tago\u2019s Tower and Ryngrim\u2019s Domain.<\/p>\n

To reach this location:<\/p>\n

    \n
  1. Travel to the Shark\u2019s Teeth party camp<\/li>\n
  2. Walk up the first ramp heading to the northwest<\/li>\n
  3. Drop down to the lower platform to your right, where you\u2019ll see a Xaurip camp with wooden barricades (which you\u2019ll need to clear if you haven\u2019t already)<\/li>\n
  4. Walk towards the large tower to the west between two buildings<\/li>\n
  5. Just after passing the wooden spike barricades, turn right and climb up the collapsed pillar<\/li>\n
  6. Walk around the corner to find the locked treasure chest which requires three lockpicks to open<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    Unlike most treasure maps, the Dead Man\u2019s Mail chest is actually locked. You\u2019ll need three lockpicks<\/u><\/a> to open it, so it\u2019s not the cheapest.<\/p>\n

    Finding the necromancer\u2019s treasure gives you none other than the Necropants<\/strong>, medium armour that summons a spectre to fight with you and provides +30% resistance to poison accumulation.<\/strong> While this is far from the best armour you can find, it\u2019s perfect for a summoner playstyle. Just remember that these types of items add active<\/em> abilities, not passive ones, so don\u2019t forget to slot the ability. Otherwise, you might as well be wearing nothing.<\/p>\n

    While you\u2019re in Shark\u2019s Teeth, it\u2019s worth visiting merchant Ihaka in a cave just west of Tago\u2019s Tower to buy the Robe of the Arcane Cheater treasure map. You can also find one of the Totem of Revelations fragments in Shark\u2019s Teeth, too.<\/p>\n<\/article>\n
