Below we explain the choices between the two branched choices in Pok\u00e9mon Go<\/em>\u2019s \u201cBeloved Buddies\u201d Timed Research.<\/p>\n

Which path should you pick? Candela or Arlo?<\/h2>\n

After the first step of the free research, there\u2019ll be a branched choice: Should you pick Candela or Arlo?<\/p>\n

If you want a PvP-relevant Pok\u00e9mon and Poffins, you should pick Candela<\/strong>. Candela offers a meta-relevant Great League PvP pick: Dunsparce. However, this isn\u2019t super hard to come across (the spawns are boosted for Dunsparce during this event, too), so this shouldn\u2019t be too much of a determining factor when it comes to picking Candela.<\/p>\n

If you want a more PvE-oriented Pok\u00e9mon and a Rocket Radar, you should pick Arlo<\/strong>. You\u2019ll get a Cubone, which evolves into Marowak, a decent Great League PvP contender, and a Scizor, which can Mega Evolve into a pretty good bug-type attacker. Arlo also offers a Rocket Radar, so if you\u2019re hunting down Giovanni<\/a> and the Team Go Rocket leaders<\/a>, this is pretty useful.<\/p>\n

Notably unlike past branched research, the steps are actually different based on which person you choose. Candela requires adding a new friend and<\/em> trading Pok\u00e9mon to another player<\/strong>, so if you\u2019re an introvert or a solo player, these may be walls that will prevent you from finishing the research. In this case, you should pick Arlo\u2019s path.<\/p>\n
