After just a day on the market, the highly anticipated sequel to 2018\u2019s Kingdom Come: Deliverance<\/em><\/a> has sold 1 million copies. Warhorse Studios\u2019 Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2<\/em> was released to immediate and widespread critical acclaim and, obviously, mounds of sales \u2014 impressive at any time but particularly in a competitive month<\/a> that\u2019ll see Civilization 7<\/em>, Assassin\u2019s Creed Shadows<\/em>, Avowed<\/em>, Monster Hunter Wilds<\/em>, and Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii<\/em> released before it comes to an end.<\/p>\n

The massive sales number so close to other hugely popular releases suggests players are either dedicated fans who planned on buying Deliverance 2<\/em> no matter when it came out, or that players intend to buy several games at the $60 price point in 2025. Regardless, the consensus among game reviewers (besides Polygon, unfortunately, as we didn\u2019t get a chance to play the game<\/a> before launch) is that the game kicks ass, especially for folks already invested in the franchise. The combat gets lots of praise, along with the faithful and direct continuation of the story from the first game \u2014 and the game\u2019s signature realism and wry humor stays in this one, too.<\/p>\n

The numbers here also make sense given the first game\u2019s success. IGN reported in 2018 that director Daniel V\u00e1vra said Kingdom Come: Deliverance<\/em> sold half a million copies<\/a> in its first week.<\/p>\n
