It\u2019s making its debut during Max Monday on Feb. 3 from 6-7 p.m. and will be available until Feb. 10 when the Max Battle rotation swaps.<\/p>\n<p class=\"has-text-align-none\">While Dynamax Moltres isn\u2019t as hard as the very tough Gigantamax battles we\u2019ve seen in the past, it can be tricky as there\u2019s not many Dynamax Pok\u00e9mon to use to counter it.<\/p>\n<p class=\"has-text-align-none\">Below, we list out some general Max Battle tips and counters for Dynamax Moltres in&nbsp;<em>Pok\u00e9mon Go<\/em>.<\/p>\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\" \/>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading has-text-align-none\">Dynamax Moltres weakness<\/h2>\n<p class=\"has-text-align-none\">Moltres is fire- and flying-type, so it only has two weaknesses to exploit: <strong>rock<\/strong>-, <strong>water<\/strong>-, and <strong>electric<\/strong>-type moves. Just like with its siblings <a href=\"https:\/\/www.polygon.com\/pokemon-go-guide\/510155\/dynamax-articuno-counters-weakness-tips\">Articuno<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.polygon.com\/pokemon-go-guide\/512801\/dynamax-zapdos-counters-weaknesses-tips\">Zapdos<\/a>, the problem is that there aren\u2019t any Dynamax Pok\u00e9mon that have rock-type Dynamax moves (as of this writing).<\/p>\n<p class=\"has-text-align-none\">There are actually quite a few water-type Dynamax and Gigantamax Pok\u00e9mon, so you should have a pretty decent spread to use for this.<\/p>\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\" \/>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading has-text-align-none\">Dynamax Moltres best counters<\/h2>\n<p class=\"has-text-align-none\">With the above in mind, there are a few counters to bring to Moltres. We recommend the following to focus on&nbsp;<strong>offensive&nbsp;<\/strong>moves:<\/p>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Gigantamax<\/strong> <strong>Kingler <\/strong>with Bubble<\/li>\n<li><strong>Gigantamax\/Dynamax Blastoise<\/strong> with Water Gun<\/li>\n<li><strong>Gigantamax Toxtricity <\/strong>with Spark<\/li>\n<li><strong>Dynamax Inteleon<\/strong> with Water Gun<\/li>\n<li><strong>Dynamax Zapdos<\/strong> with Thunder Shock<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"has-text-align-none\">Moltres doesn\u2019t have complex movesets like its siblings, so you don\u2019t have to worry too much about conflicting typing. The only concern here would be using Zapdos if Moltres has Ancient Power, which can hurt it quite a bit.<\/p>\n<p class=\"has-text-align-none\">As for defense, you should bring the following with Max Guard and Max Spirit:<\/p>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Gigantamax\/Dynamax Blastoise<\/strong> with Water Gun<\/li>\n<li><strong>Metagross <\/strong>with Zen Headbutt<\/li>\n<li><strong>Excadrill <\/strong>with Metal Claw<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"has-text-align-none\">These Pok\u00e9mon are just meant to tank hits from Moltres, while they quickly charge up the max meter with their fast moves. Blastoise is preferred, but Excadrill and Metagross can both hold their weight.<\/p>\n<p class=\"has-text-align-none\">Even if you don\u2019t have these powered up, consider just bringing the\u00a0<em>strongest<\/em>\u00a0Dynamax Pok\u00e9mon you have. If you have a maxed out Dynamax Gengar and your Dynamax Sobble isn\u2019t evolved to Inteleon (and you don\u2019t have the means to power it up), just bring your Gengar.<\/p>\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\" \/>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading has-text-align-none\">General Max Battle tips<\/h2>\n<p class=\"has-text-align-none\">If you\u2019ve been struggling in Max Battles, here are some general tips to survive \u2014 and make sure you\u2019re an asset to your team. While Gigantamax Battles are tough, a Legendary Max Battle shouldn\u2019t be <em>as<\/em> tough as that. You can slack a <em>little<\/em>, but you should still heed our advice:<\/p>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Make sure you have enough players.<\/strong>&nbsp;High-efficiency players with maxed out investments will likely be able to solo Moltres, but this isn\u2019t going to be realistic for most people. Try to go at it with three other players for the highest chance of winning. Note that unlike Gigantamax Pok\u00e9mon, the Dynamax Legendary Pok\u00e9mon have a max party size of four (rather than 40).<\/li>\n<li><strong>Don\u2019t sleep on Max Spirit and Max Guard<\/strong>. Teams work best when there\u2019s a variety of moves, not just maxed-out attacks. Each player should bring Pok\u00e9mon with the defensive and healing moves unlocked as well. Max Guard will focus single-target damage towards you and reduce the damage taken and Max Spirit will heal the whole party, so these moves are really important to make sure your damage-dealers can keep dishing.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Remember to swap to super effective moves when it\u2019s time to Dynamax<\/strong>. For&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.polygon.com\/pokemon-go-guide\/449273\/dynamax-pokemon-get-catch-max-battles\">Dynamax Pok\u00e9mon<\/a>, their max moves are determined by whatever type their fast move is. This means if you have a Cryogonal with Frost Breath, it will know Max Hailstorm. A Gengar with Lick will know Max Phantasm. Take advantage of this and make sure to swap to a Pok\u00e9mon that will deal super effective damage to your target before Dynamaxing, if you can.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Focus on your fast moves<\/strong>. You want to spam your fast moves to build up that Dynamax meter and often times, using your charge move is actually a DPS loss when compared to the damage you could be doing with your max move will be. Spam those attacks!<\/li>\n<li><strong>Level up a few \u2018mons, but you don\u2019t have to go too hard<\/strong>. Depending on your group size, you absolutely do not need to max out all your Dynamax Pok\u00e9mon to level 40-50. While this will make it easier on the rest of your group, if this isn\u2019t an investment you can make, you don\u2019t have to stress about it. Power things up as high as you can afford to, but don\u2019t fret if you don\u2019t have a maxed out Pok\u00e9mon.<\/li>\n<li>That all being said,&nbsp;<strong>make sure to come as prepared as you can be<\/strong>. This is a team effort and there\u2019s a chance that a full group of four can still fail. Do not just bring your unleveled&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.polygon.com\/pokemon-go-guide\/447546\/to-the-max-special-research-quest-rewards\">Dynamax Wooloo<\/a>&nbsp;expecting a free ride to a powerful Pok\u00e9mon. (After all, if&nbsp;<em>everyone<\/em>&nbsp;does that, then you certainly won\u2019t clear the battle.) Again, you don\u2019t have to completely max out your Pok\u00e9mon, but it will be better for everyone involved if you bring something helpful to the table.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Keep your eye out for a shiny Moltres!<\/strong>&nbsp;If you clear the raid, there is a chance that the Moltres you catch will be shiny \u2014 which also means it\u2019ll be a guaranteed catch.
