Now that Maxis Studios and Electronic Arts re-released the original game to Windows PC as part of <em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.polygon.com\/gaming\/515938\/the-sims-1-2-bundles\">The Sims: Legacy Collection<\/a><\/em>, it\u2019s time to brush up on some of those retro cheat codes from when it first released.<\/p>\n<p class=\"has-text-align-none\">Below, we list all the cheats in <em>The Sims<\/em> we could verify as working in <em>The Sims: Legacy Collection<\/em>, along with what they do, and how to use them. And if you\u2019re looking for more <em>Legacy Collection<\/em> cheats, see our guide to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.polygon.com\/e\/516346\"><em>The Sims 2<\/em> cheat codes<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"has-text-align-none\">But a quick disclaimer first: A number of known cheat codes for the original Sims release, <a href=\"https:\/\/sims.fandom.com\/wiki\/The_Sims\/cheats\">courtesy of The Sims Wiki<\/a>, did not appear to work in the re-release. Polygon&#8217;s testing for a number of codes repeatedly returned a notification reading &#8220;No such cheat!&#8221; We&#8217;ll update this guide if and when we&#8217;re able to confirm additional cheats.<\/p>\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\" \/>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"how-to-input-cheats-in-the-sims-1\">How to input cheats in The Sims 1<\/h2>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/arcader.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/01\/the-sims-1-cheat-codes-list.jpg\" alt=\"A toolbar shows how to enter The Sims 1 chest costs list\" title=\"A toolbar shows how to enter The Sims 1 chest costs list\" data-has-syndication-rights=\"1\" data-caption=\"\" data-portal-copyright=\"Image: Maxis\/EA Games via Polygon\" \/><\/p>\n<p class=\"has-text-align-none\">You can press <strong>Ctrl+Shift+C<\/strong>&nbsp;on PC to open the text command bar. This will pull up a small gray bar in the top left-hand corner of your screen where you can type. Punch your code in there and hit enter to load the cheat and close the text bar. Note, that each code is not case-sensitive.<\/p>\n<p class=\"has-text-align-none\"><em>The Sims<\/em> has a few shortcuts that make entering codes easier. To repeat the last cheat you did, type \u201c!\u201d (a single exclamation point) and it will automatically reload the last cheat you did. You can also use a semicolon enter several at once. For example, you could type \u201crosebud; interests\u201d and it would load both those cheats.
