Lego has a strong history with adapting popular IP into build kits, with sets ranging from Star Wars<\/a>, Lord of the Rings<\/a>, and Dungeons & Dragons<\/a> to The Legend of Zelda<\/a><\/em>, Mario Kart<\/a><\/em>, and\u2026 well, you get the idea. But it doesn\u2019t have all <\/em>of the good franchises. Some of the biggest anime series, including Jujutsu Kaisen<\/a><\/em> and Chainsaw Man<\/a><\/em>, have landed at BLDR, a new contender in the Lego-like construction space. Sanrio\u2019s beloved Hello Kitty<\/em><\/a> <\/em>is now a BLDR franchise as well.<\/p>\n

BLDR sets are designed by Jazwares, the company that took the world by storm with Squishmallows plushies (which also star in their own BLDR sets<\/a>). Notably, the bricks included in its sets are compatible with \u201call major construction brands,\u201d including Lego. So all BLDR sets can be complemented by Lego bricks you might already have at home.<\/p>\n

At launch, the company has a handful of sets available at Amazon and directly from the BLDR site<\/a>. There are the cute yet surprisingly deep and customizable dioramas from the Hello Kitty and Friends<\/em> universe, featuring characters as you remember them looking, without blocky legs. Also, Squishmallows are showing up with dioramas, too, with soft-bellied, cuddly SquishBrik characters.<\/p>\n

The initial batch of Jujutsu Kaisen<\/em> and Chainsaw Man<\/em> products are more like action figures than like the static sets associated with brick-based builder sets. Each 9-inch figure is posable, with 19 points of articulation, thanks to their QuikBrik design, which Jazwares says will give them extra sturdiness and flexibility. Jazwares\u2019 ongoing collaboration with Crunchyroll will yield a new Jujutsu Kaisen figure soon, featuring Ryomen Sukuna<\/a>. Hopefully, characters from many other anime series will follow.<\/p>\n
