It\u2019s making its debut during Max Monday on Jan. 27 from 6-7 p.m. and will be available until Feb. 3 when Dynamax Moltres will debut.<\/p>\n<p class=\"has-text-align-none\">While Dynamax Zapdos isn\u2019t as hard as the very tough Gigantamax battles we\u2019ve seen in the past, it can be tricky as there\u2019s not many Dynamax Pok\u00e9mon to use to counter it.<\/p>\n<p class=\"has-text-align-none\">Below, we list out some general Max Battle tips and counters for Dynamax Zapdos in&nbsp;<em>Pok\u00e9mon Go<\/em>.<\/p>\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\" \/>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading has-text-align-none\">Dynamax Zapdos weakness<\/h2>\n<p class=\"has-text-align-none\">Zapdos is electric- and flying-type, so it only has two weaknesses to exploit: <strong>rock<\/strong>&#8211; and <strong>ice<\/strong>-type moves. Just like its sibling <a href=\"https:\/\/www.polygon.com\/pokemon-go-guide\/510155\/dynamax-articuno-counters-weakness-tips\">Articuno<\/a>, the problem is that there aren\u2019t any Dynamax Pok\u00e9mon that have rock-type Dynamax moves (as of this writing).<\/p>\n<p class=\"has-text-align-none\">There aren\u2019t really many Dynamax Pok\u00e9mon out there that will help you beat down Zapdos, but there are a few that will resist its attacks, allowing you to take advantage of bulk to play the defensive option.<\/p>\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\" \/>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading has-text-align-none\">Dynamax Zapdos best counters<\/h2>\n<p class=\"has-text-align-none\">With the above in mind, there are a few counters to bring to Zapdos. We recommend the following to focus on\u00a0<strong>offensive\u00a0<\/strong>moves:<\/p>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Gigantamax<\/strong> <strong>Lapras <\/strong>with Water Gun<\/li>\n<li><strong>Dynamax Cryogonal<\/strong> with Frost Breath<\/li>\n<li><strong>Dynamax Articuno<\/strong> with Frost Breath<\/li>\n<li><strong>Dynamax\/Gigantamax Gengar<\/strong> with Lick<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"has-text-align-none\">For the most part, you\u2019ll want to keep your offensive Pok\u00e9mon stocked away while your tanks soak up hits and charge the max meter. Swap to these when it\u2019s time to Dynamax or Gigantamax, but keep them in reserve otherwise, as Zapdos\u2019 moveset can take these out quickly.<\/p>\n<p class=\"has-text-align-none\">As for defense, you should bring the following with Max Guard and Max Spirit:<\/p>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Dynamax Excadrill<\/strong> with Metal Claw<\/li>\n<li><strong>Dynamax\/Gigantamax Venusaur<\/strong> with Vine Whip<\/li>\n<li><strong>Dynamax\/Gigantamax Rillaboom<\/strong> with Scratch<\/li>\n<li><strong>Dynamax Metagross<\/strong> with Zen Headbutt<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"has-text-align-none\">These Pok\u00e9mon are just meant to tank hits from Zapdos while they quickly charge up the max meter with their fast moves. Excadrill can resist just about everything Zapdos can throw at it, while the two grass-types will struggle against Drill Peck. Metagross will also hold its weight decently against Zapdos, so use what you have and pay attention to Zapdos\u2019 movesets.<\/p>\n<p class=\"has-text-align-none\">Even if you don\u2019t have these powered up, consider just bringing the&nbsp;<em>strongest<\/em>&nbsp;Dynamax Pok\u00e9mon you have. If you have a maxed out Dynamax Gengar and your Dynamax Cryogonal isn\u2019t leveled (and you don\u2019t have the means to power it up), just bring your Gengar.<\/p>\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\" \/>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading has-text-align-none\">General Max Battle tips<\/h2>\n<p class=\"has-text-align-none\">If you\u2019ve been struggling in Max Battles, here are some general tips to survive \u2014 and make sure you\u2019re an asset to your team. While Gigantamax Battles are tough, a Legendary Max Battle shouldn\u2019t be <em>as<\/em> tough as that. You can slack a <em>little<\/em>, but you should still heed our advice:<\/p>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Make sure you have enough players.<\/strong>&nbsp;High-efficiency players with maxed out investments will likely be able to solo Zapdos, but this isn\u2019t going to be realistic for most people. Try to go at it with three other players for the highest chance of winning. Note that unlike Gigantamax Pok\u00e9mon, the Dynamax Legendary Pok\u00e9mon have a max party size of four (rather than 40).<\/li>\n<li><strong>Don\u2019t sleep on Max Spirit and Max Guard<\/strong>. Teams work best when there\u2019s a variety of moves, not just maxed-out attacks. Each player should bring Pok\u00e9mon with the defensive and healing moves unlocked as well. Max Guard will focus single-target damage towards you and reduce the damage taken and Max Spirit will heal the whole party, so these moves are really important to make sure your damage-dealers can keep dishing.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Remember to swap to super effective moves when it\u2019s time to Dynamax<\/strong>. For\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.polygon.com\/pokemon-go-guide\/449273\/dynamax-pokemon-get-catch-max-battles\">Dynamax Pok\u00e9mon<\/a>, their max moves are determined by whatever type their fast move is. This means if you have a Cryogonal with Frost Breath, it will know Max Hailstorm. A Gengar with Lick will know Max Phantasm. Take advantage of this and make sure to swap to a Pok\u00e9mon that will deal super effective damage to your target before Dynamaxing, if you can.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Focus on your fast moves<\/strong>. You want to spam your fast moves to build up that Dynamax meter and often times, using your charge move is actually a DPS loss when compared to the damage you could be doing with your max move will be. Spam those attacks!<\/li>\n<li><strong>Level up a few \u2018mons, but you don\u2019t have to go too hard<\/strong>. Depending on your group size, you absolutely do not need to max out all your Dynamax Pok\u00e9mon to level 40-50. While this will make it easier on the rest of your group, if this isn\u2019t an investment you can make, you don\u2019t have to stress about it. Power things up as high as you can afford to, but don\u2019t fret if you don\u2019t have a maxed out Pok\u00e9mon.<\/li>\n<li>That all being said,&nbsp;<strong>make sure to come as prepared as you can be<\/strong>. This is a team effort and there\u2019s a chance that a full group of four can still fail. Do not just bring your unleveled&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.polygon.com\/pokemon-go-guide\/447546\/to-the-max-special-research-quest-rewards\">Dynamax Wooloo<\/a>&nbsp;expecting a free ride to a powerful Pok\u00e9mon. (After all, if&nbsp;<em>everyone<\/em>&nbsp;does that, then you certainly won\u2019t clear the battle.) Again, you don\u2019t have to completely max out your Pok\u00e9mon, but it will be better for everyone involved if you bring something helpful to the table.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Keep your eye out for a shiny Zapdos!<\/strong>&nbsp;If you clear the raid, there is a chance that the Zapdos you catch will be shiny \u2014 which also means it\u2019ll be a guaranteed catch.
