It\u2019s called Clash of Dancing Lions, and it takes place in a big arena with goals on either end. Teams pass a ball around and try to score goals using Black Widow, Iron Fist, and Star-Lord \u2014 in dancing lion skins, of course. If you replaced those heroes with L\u00facio from <em>Overwatch<\/em>, you would just have <a href=\"https:\/\/youtu.be\/YvATDz2MHws\">L\u00facioball<\/a>, a mode that has existed in that game since its first Summer Games event in 2016.<\/p>\n<p class=\"has-text-align-none\">It also looks like the <em>Marvel Rivals<\/em> heroes are getting dancing lion MVP animations just like their <em>Overwatch<\/em> counterparts. Obviously, neither game invented Chinese New Year celebrations or the <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Lion_dance\">traditional dance<\/a> associated with it, but the similarities between the events are hard to ignore.<\/p>\n<p class=\"has-text-align-none\"><em>Overwatch<\/em> is going bigger with its Lunar New Year celebration this year in part because it\u2019s coming back to China on Feb. 19, via publisher NetEase, no less. In <a href=\"https:\/\/www.xiaohongshu.com\/explore\/678714400000000021001874?app_platform=android&amp;ignoreEngage=true&amp;app_version=8.59.0&amp;share_from_user_hidden=true&amp;xsec_source=app_share&amp;type=video&amp;xsec_token=CB_k6JW1rHJTWxWztPzvO-qR3C0SQPiC3qEEiNsujB1RI=&amp;author_share=1&amp;xhsshare=CopyLink&amp;shareRedId=OD06NjY4Nks2NzUyOTgwNjY7OTpKPDdC&amp;apptime=1736962759&amp;share_id=a84bdc7c072340de92169a58fe59cebe\">a post<\/a> last week on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.polygon.com\/tiktok\/508413\/tiktok-ban-rednote-lemon8-chinese-social-media-apps\">Xiaohongshu<\/a> (also known as RedNote), game director Aaron Keller announced a bunch of returning cosmetics and a whole set of Chinese mythology-themed skins coming in its next season.<\/p>\n<p class=\"has-text-align-none\">But until then, it\u2019ll be <em>Marvel Rivals\u2019 <\/em>turn to celebrate. And even if the new mode plays nothing like L\u00facioball, you can bet people are going to point out how blatantly it\u2019s borrowing from <em>Overwatch<\/em>.
