Wizards of the Coast and Stern Pinball revealed Dungeons & Dragon: The Tyrant\u2019s Eye<\/em><\/a> on Friday, a new pinball table that captures the magic of D&D in mechanical form. The Tyrant\u2019s Eye<\/em> features both an actual dungeon and an animatronic dragon as part of its design, as well as Dungeons & Dragons<\/a>\u2019 gameplay mechanics, with a story-based campaign, 45 classic monsters to battle, and iconic character classes.<\/p>\n

The marquee feature of Dungeons & Dragon: The Tyrant\u2019s Eye<\/em> is the table\u2019s big bad guy, Rath the Relentless, a red dragon voiced by Michael Dorn<\/a> (Star Trek: The Next Generation<\/em>). Stern calls Rath \u201cthe most advanced animatronic mech in pinball,\u201d and he\u2019ll track players\u2019 action as they try to steal his treasure. Rath can also strategically block pathways, avoid being hit, and even breathe pinballs, firing multiple balls from its mouth.<\/p>\n

Dungeons & Dragon: The Tyrant\u2019s Eye<\/em> voice cast also includes Critical Role<\/a> mainstays Matthew Mercer, Laura Bailey, and Marisha Ray; multihyphenate musicians Brendon Small of Dethklok and Gerard Way of My Chemical Romance; game designer Luke Gygax; and filmmakers Kevin Smith and Chris Prynoski. Music for The Tyrant\u2019s Eye<\/em> is by composer Chris Velasco (Bloodborne<\/em>, Mass Effect 2<\/em>) and artwork was handled by Vincent Proce. Veteran pinball designer Brian Eddy (Attack From Mars<\/em>, Medieval Madness<\/em>) lead the table\u2019s design.<\/p>\n

As for the pinball table\u2019s campaign, Stern says that players are \u201cchosen members of the Dragonshield Guild, trying to defeat the dragon queen Tiamat, who is hatching a plan to rise again, triggering the War of Dragons, with Xanathar, Balinor and Sammaster all fighting for power.\u201d Completing the campaign unlocks additional playable characters.<\/p>\n

The elaborate production of Dungeons & Dragon: The Tyrant\u2019s Eye<\/em> comes at a cost. The table\u2019s Pro edition runs $6,999, while a Premium version costs $9,699. For D&D and pinball fans with an infinite bag of holding, the game\u2019s Limited Edition, which is limited to 740 units, costs a whopping $12,999. <\/p>\n
