This year we\u2019re looking at 50 shows in 2025 that we think you should be excited about, including a nice mix of favorites returning for new seasons as well as new shows and miniseries that are on the way.<\/p>\n<p class=\"has-text-align-none\">Those shows include returns to dystopian societies in <em>Severance <\/em>and <em>Squid Game<\/em>, the return of TV lawyers with <em>Daredevil <\/em>and <em>Suits: LA<\/em>, a new Robert De Niro miniseries, and a new show from <em>Breaking Bad<\/em> creator Vince Gilligan. Here are the shows from 2025 we\u2019re on the lookout for: <\/p>\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\" \/>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading has-text-align-none\">Harley Quinn season 5 <\/h2>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/arcader.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/01\/the-50-most-exciting-tv-shows-for-your-2025-watch-list-1.jpg\" alt=\"\" title=\"\" data-has-syndication-rights=\"1\" data-caption=\"\" data-portal-copyright=\"Image: Max\" \/><\/p>\n<p class=\"has-text-align-none\"><strong>Release date:<\/strong> Jan. 16<br \/><strong>Where to watch:<\/strong> Max<\/p>\n<p class=\"has-text-align-none\">The funniest show in the DC Universe returns for a fifth season this January, and moves the action to Metropolis. That means Aisha Tyler joining the crew as Lena Luthor, Stephen Fry as Brainiac, and most likely a bigger role for Superman. And with a new <a href=\"https:\/\/www.polygon.com\/23578415\/new-dc-movies-james-gunn-release-date-superman-batman-schedule-calendar-upcoming\">DC Universe around the corner<\/a>, you can be sure there will be a lot of meta gags about James Gunn, who was last seen directing an in-universe Thomas Wayne biopic starring Clayface pretending to be Billy Bob Thornton. \u2014<em>Pete Volk<\/em><\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading has-text-align-none\">Severance season 2<\/h2>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/arcader.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/01\/the-50-most-exciting-tv-shows-for-your-2025-watch-list-2.jpg\" alt=\"\" title=\"\" data-has-syndication-rights=\"1\" data-caption=\"\" data-portal-copyright=\"Image: Fifth Season\/Apple TV\" \/><\/p>\n<p class=\"has-text-align-none\"><strong>Release date:<\/strong> Jan. 17<br \/><strong>Where to watch:<\/strong> Apple TV Plus<\/p>\n<p class=\"has-text-align-none\">Season 1 of <em>Severance<\/em> left all of us with one of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.polygon.com\/23010270\/severance-season-finale-explained-questions-creator\">the most daring, conniving, and frankly annoying (non-derogatory) cliffhangers in TV<\/a>: The innies in open rebellion; Mark (Adam Scott) discovering his wife was still alive and (somehow?) being kept in the bowels of Lumon. This time, though, the focus is on Dr. John Watson, so it\u2019s more of a medical drama with detective elements than a detective drama with medical elements. The new show, designed after the style of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.polygon.com\/marvel\/482423\/spider-man-macys-parade-balloon-muscles-inspo\">Steve Ditko and John Romita Sr.<\/a>, is set to feature not just Spider-Man but lots of other Marvel characters, including deep cuts like Nico Minoru. \u2014<em>Susana Polo<\/em><\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading has-text-align-none\">Cobra Kai season 6 part 3<\/h2>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/arcader.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/01\/the-50-most-exciting-tv-shows-for-your-2025-watch-list-6.jpg\" alt=\"\" title=\"\" data-has-syndication-rights=\"1\" data-caption=\"\" data-portal-copyright=\"\" \/><\/p>\n<p class=\"has-text-align-none\"><strong>Release date:<\/strong> Feb. 13 <br \/><strong><strong>Where to watch:<\/strong><\/strong> Netflix<\/p>\n<p class=\"has-text-align-none\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.polygon.com\/22991156\/cobra-kai-keeps-mining-the-ultimate-rivalry\"><em>Cobra Kai<\/em><\/a> is back \u2014 for those keeping score at home, this will be the <em>third<\/em> part of its <em>sixth<\/em> season, and the <em>final<\/em> batch of episodes for the show ever. No surprise, this is being billed as the Cobra Kai legends\u2019 biggest battle yet. And of course, it wouldn\u2019t be a new <em>White Lotus<\/em> season without a new all-star cast, which this time includes Walton Goggins, Parker Posey, Jason Isaacs, Michelle Monaghan, Leslie Bibb, Lisa, and many, many more. \u2014<em>AG<\/em><\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading has-text-align-none\">Win or Lose&nbsp;<\/h2>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/arcader.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/01\/the-50-most-exciting-tv-shows-for-your-2025-watch-list-8.jpg\" alt=\"A baseball team celebrates something in Pixar\u2019s Win or Lose \" title=\"A baseball team celebrates something in Pixar\u2019s Win or Lose \" data-has-syndication-rights=\"1\" data-caption=\"\" data-portal-copyright=\"Image: Pixar\/Disney Plus \" \/><\/p>\n<p class=\"has-text-align-none\"><strong>Release date:<\/strong> Feb. 19<br \/><strong><strong>Where to watch:<\/strong><\/strong> Disney Plus<\/p>\n<p class=\"has-text-align-none\">Soon after the launch of Disney Plus, Pixar announced a streaming show called <em>Win or Lose<\/em>, which sounded like a sort of animated softball <em>Rashomon<\/em>: Each week, viewers would see the same events surrounding a coed middle school softball team, but from a different team member\u2019s perspective. Fast forward a few years, and the show is finally coming to the platform. Most appealing is how that premise will be reflected in the visual approach of the series, as each episode is supposed to have a different animation style. But news that <a href=\"https:\/\/www.polygon.com\/tv\/498573\/disney-transgender-pixar-win-or-lose-banned\">Disney pulled a transgender storyline<\/a> from the season <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theguardian.com\/film\/2022\/mar\/11\/disney-pixar-employees-gay-content\">continues<\/a> a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.polygon.com\/news\/479614\/disney-reportedly-pulls-marvels-moon-girl-and-dinosaur-episode-over-trans-athlete-story\">troubling<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ign.com\/articles\/inside-out-2-was-the-hit-pixar-needed-but-the-laid-off-employees-who-crunched-on-it-are-still-hurting\">pattern<\/a>, and will give some viewers pause about diving in. \u2014<em>PV<\/em><\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading has-text-align-none\">Reacher season 3<\/h2>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<div>\n<div><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Reacher Season 3 - Official Teaser | Prime Video\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/iOjzqawTPus?rel=0\" width=\"720\" height=\"405\" allowfullscreen allow=\"accelerometer; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share;\"><\/iframe><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/figure>\n<p class=\"has-text-align-none\"><strong>Release date:<\/strong> Feb. 20<br \/><strong><strong>Where to watch:<\/strong><\/strong> Prime Video<\/p>\n<p class=\"has-text-align-none\">Everyone\u2019s favorite \u201cswole Sherlock\u201d show returns for a third season, and this time there\u2019s a secret weapon: Yes, <em>Reacher <\/em>somehow found an even bigger dude. Seven-foot-two, 350-pound Dutch bodybuilder Olivier Richters has joined the show as an antagonist, and the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=iOjzqawTPus\">early teaser<\/a> shows that Richters\u2019 presence somehow makes the massive Alan Ritchson look like a small child. What led his whole life to unravel, and where will that leave the firm now? The nine-episode first season will see Murdock once again clash against his adversary, former mob boss Wilson Fisk (Vincent D\u2019Onofrio).
