Gigantamax battles involve way more strategy than the usual rampant tapping that you do in raids, so make sure to know what you\u2019re doing before jumping in.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Make sure you have enough players.<\/strong> High-efficiency groups with maxed out investments can take down the Lapras with fewer people, but practically, if you don\u2019t have hundreds of spare candy and even more Stardust laying around, this isn\u2019t going to be an option for you. Make sure you have as many people as possible to ensure that you get your musically inclined cruise ship-shell creature.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Don\u2019t sleep on Max Spirit and Max Guard<\/strong>. Teams work best when there\u2019s a variety of moves, not just maxed-out attacks. Each player should bring Pok\u00e9mon with the defensive and healing moves unlocked as well. Max Guard will focus single-target damage towards you and reduce the damage taken and Max Spirit will heal the whole party, so these moves are really important to make sure your damage-dealers can keep dishing.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Remember to swap to super effective moves when it\u2019s time to Dynamax<\/strong>. For <a href=\"https:\/\/www.polygon.com\/pokemon-go-guide\/449273\/dynamax-pokemon-get-catch-max-battles\">Dynamax Pok\u00e9mon<\/a>, their max moves will be whatever type their fast move is. This means if you have a Rillaboom with Razor Leaf, it will know Max Overgrowth. A Gengar with Shadow Claw will know Max Phantasm. Take advantage of this and make sure to swap to a Pok\u00e9mon that will deal super effective damage to your target before Dynamaxing, if you can.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Level up a few \u2018mons, but you don\u2019t have to go too hard<\/strong>. Depending on your group size, you absolutely do not need to max out all your Dynamax Pok\u00e9mon to level 40-50. While this will make it easier on the rest of your group, if this isn\u2019t an investment you can make, you don\u2019t have to stress about it. Power things up as high as you can afford to, but don\u2019t fret if you don\u2019t have a maxed out Pok\u00e9mon.<\/li>\n<li>That all being said, <strong>make sure to come as prepared as you can be<\/strong>. This is a team effort and there\u2019s a reason why groups of 30-40 people can still fail. Do not just bring your unleveled <a href=\"https:\/\/www.polygon.com\/pokemon-go-guide\/447546\/to-the-max-special-research-quest-rewards\">Dynamax Wooloo<\/a> expecting a free ride to a powerful Pok\u00e9mon. (After all, if <em>everyone<\/em> does that, then you certainly won\u2019t clear the battle.) Again, you don\u2019t have to completely max out your Pok\u00e9mon, but it will be better for everyone involved if you bring something helpful to the table.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Keep your eye out for a shiny Lapras!<\/strong> If you clear the raid, there is a chance that the Lapras you catch will be shiny \u2014 which also means it\u2019ll be a guaranteed catch. Use a Pinap Berry to score extra candy if you get lucky enough to find a sparkly Lapras.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/arcader.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/12\/gigantamax-lapras-counters-weakness-and-battle-tips-in-pokemon-go-1.jpg\" alt=\"\" title=\"\" data-has-syndication-rights=\"1\" data-caption=\"\" data-portal-copyright=\"\" \/><\/p>\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\" \/>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading has-text-align-none\" id=\"gigantamax-lapras-weakness\">Gigantamax Lapras weakness<\/h2>\n<p class=\"has-text-align-none\">We\u2019ll want to utilize Gigantamax Lapras\u2019 <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.polygon.com\/pokemon-go-guide\/22554033\/type-chart-strengths-weaknesses-super-effective\">weaknesses<\/a><\/strong>: <strong>fighting-, rock-, grass-, and electric<\/strong>-type moves. There aren\u2019t too many Pok\u00e9mon that can utilize these move types, though.<\/p>\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\" \/>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading has-text-align-none\" id=\"gigantamax-lapras-best-counters\">Gigantamax Lapras best counters<\/h2>\n<p class=\"has-text-align-none\">With the above in mind, there\u2019s a few counters to bring to Lapras. We recommend the following to focus on <strong>offensive <\/strong>moves:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Venusaur <\/strong>with Vine Whip and Petal Blizzard<\/li>\n<li><strong>Toxtricity <\/strong>with Spark and Wild Charge<\/li>\n<li><strong>Machamp <\/strong>with Counter and Payback<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"has-text-align-none\">Note that if the Lapras you\u2019re facing off against has Blizzard or Ice Beam as one its moves, your Venusaur will faint pretty quickly.<\/p>\n<p class=\"has-text-align-none\">If you want to be an ally to your team, you can bring the following Pok\u00e9mon with Max Guard to help our <strong>defensively<\/strong>:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Metagross <\/strong>with Zen Headbutt<\/li>\n<li><strong>Blastoise <\/strong>with Bite<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"has-text-align-none\">These moves will allow you to build up shields quickly, and they resist most of Lapras\u2019 possible moves.<\/p>\n<p class=\"has-text-align-none\">There still aren\u2019t too many ideal Pok\u00e9mon to use as <strong>healers<\/strong>, since Max Spirit wants you to use high-HP Pok\u00e9mon. You can use <strong>Greedent <\/strong>in the meantime, which has a ton of HP.<\/p>\n<p class=\"has-text-align-none\">Even if you don\u2019t have these powered up, consider just bringing the <em>strongest<\/em> Dynamax Pok\u00e9mon you have. If you have a maxed out Dynamax Gengar and your Dynamax Venusaur isn\u2019t leveled (and you don\u2019t have the means to power it up), just bring your Gengar.
