That starts today with the surprise release of <em><a href=\"https:\/\/store.steampowered.com\/app\/2820060\/Preface_Undiscovered_World\/\">Preface: Undiscovered World<\/a><\/em>, a free tech demo that dynamically generates a massive, Earth-scale world for players to explore.<\/p>\n<p class=\"has-text-align-none\"><em>Preface<\/em> promises just a taste of PlayerUnknown Productions\u2019 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theverge.com\/2016\/2\/29\/11133682\/deep-learning-ai-explained-machine-learning\">machine learning<\/a> game technology, known as <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theverge.com\/2022\/9\/29\/23377207\/playerunknown-artemis-melba-open-world-prologue-player-content-nft\">Melba<\/a>. The tech demo lets players journey through a 200 million square mile world, with dynamic points of interest to visit and a postcard system to document players\u2019 journeys. Players\u2019 time in <em>Preface<\/em> will inform the developer\u2019s next project, <em><a href=\"https:\/\/store.steampowered.com\/app\/2943740\/Prologue_Go_Wayback\/\">Prologue: Go Wayback!<\/a><\/em> Gameplay data from <em>Preface<\/em> will help refine the billions of future worlds of <em>Prologue<\/em>, the developer says, and the studio\u2019s \u201cend goal\u201d project after that.<\/p>\n<p class=\"has-text-align-none\"><em>Prologue: Go Wayback!<\/em> is a single-player,\u00a0open-world emergent game in the survival genre, PlayerUnknown Productions said in a new video. <em>Prologue<\/em> will give players \u201ca new map to play on every time you press play\u201d and will task players with surviving the journey across that dynamically generated map. Players will face unpredictable weather and ever-changing landscapes, utilizing resources to survive harsh conditions.
