The Gen 8 ghost-type has a single evolution, Polteageist<\/strong>, which can also be added to your Pok\u00e9dex with enough candy.<\/p>\n

Sinistea does not spawn in the wild on its debut, making it challenging to gather enough candy to evolve one. However, the more you catch, the more chances you have to find its rare and well-hidden \u201cantique\u201d form<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Here\u2019s how to get Sinistea during the \u201cJust My Cup of Tea\u201d event in Pok\u00e9mon Go, <\/em>and how to check between its phony and antique forms.<\/p>\n

How to get Sinistea in Pok\u00e9mon Go<\/strong><\/h2>\n

With its debut in Dec. 2024\u2019s \u201cJust My Cup of Tea\u201d event, you can catch Sinistea from one-star raids.<\/strong> This is the lowest raid difficulty, making it straightforward to solo even without specific counters \u2014 so simply bring your strongest Pok\u00e9mon and let \u2019em rip.<\/p>\n

To clarify, Sinistea does not appear anywhere else in the game right now<\/strong>, be it Timed Research, eggs, or in the wild. Whether Sinistea will remain in raids, or move to other sources after the \u201cJust My Cup of Tea\u201d event concludes on Saturday, Dec. 7, is unknown. Until then, raids should be your focus if you want to catch one.<\/p>\n

How to get evolution Polteageist in Pok\u00e9mon Go<\/strong><\/h2>\n

To get Polteageist in Pok\u00e9mon Go<\/em>, you must evolve Sinistea with 50 candy<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

If you are in the need of extra candy to either evolve or level your Sinistea, consider trading a spare with a friend, as you\u2019ll receive candy for the outgoing Pok\u00e9mon when you do. Otherwise, using Rare Candy can help top you up with the candy you need to evolve.<\/p>\n

How to get Sinistea\u2019s \u2018Antique\u2019 form in Pok\u00e9mon Go<\/strong><\/h2>\n

In Pok\u00e9mon Sword and Shield<\/em> \u2014 the games where Sinistea made its debut \u2014 there are two forms you can find: \u201cPhony\u201d and \u201cAntique\u201d. The latter is the rarest of the two, estimated to be encountered only one in 100 times, and is almost indistinguishable from the other apart from a mark on the underside of the Pok\u00e9mon.<\/p>\n

Both these \u201cPhony\u201d and \u201cAntique\u201d forms also appear in Pok\u00e9mon Go<\/em>. To check whether you have a \u201cPhony\u201d or \u201cAntique\u201d Sinistea form<\/strong>, appraise the Pok\u00e9mon in the same way you would check its stats. As well as learning its Attack, Defense and HP values, you\u2019ll also be given an assessment of its form. After all, you cannot check the underside of a Sinistea as you would in the main games!<\/p>\n

The form also carries over to its evolution Polteageist \u2014 so if you want a living \u2018dex, then be prepared to get two.<\/p>\n

The chance of getting the \u201cAntique\u201d form in Pok\u00e9mon Go <\/em>is unknown, but it\u2019s likely to be around the same one in 100 chance as the main games (similar to how rare Tandemaus<\/a>\u2019s \u201cFamily of Three\u201d form appears to have the same chance in both Pok\u00e9mon Go<\/em> and Pok\u00e9mon Scarlet and Violet<\/em>).<\/p>\n

Can Sinistea be shiny in in Pok\u00e9mon Go?<\/strong><\/h2>\n

On its debut, Sinistea cannot be shiny in Pok\u00e9mon Go<\/em><\/strong>. The amount of time for a Pok\u00e9mon to have a shiny variant is never disclosed by developer Niantic, but it often takes years to happen \u2014 so know it could be a while.<\/p>\n

In the meantime, you can see what shiny Sinistea looks like thanks to Pok\u00e9mon Sword and Shield<\/em>, where it takes on a more rosy appearance.<\/p>\n
