Lead art tools programmer <a data-analytics-id=\"inline-link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.linkedin.com\/feed\/update\/urn:li:activity:7257422139434090496\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><u>Guillaume Leroy<\/u><\/a> said in a post on LinkedIn that &#8220;like most of the employees of Inflexion Games, I am no longer part of the studio.&#8221; Others, including lead game tools programmer <a data-analytics-id=\"inline-link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.linkedin.com\/feed\/update\/urn:li:activity:7257457663981039616\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><u>Theo K<\/u><\/a>., software engineer <a data-analytics-id=\"inline-link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.linkedin.com\/feed\/update\/urn:li:activity:7257442693281198080\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><u>Loic Leinot<\/u><\/a>, and narrative editor <a data-analytics-id=\"inline-link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.linkedin.com\/feed\/update\/urn:li:activity:7257446143343644680\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><u>Sharayah Piercey<\/u><\/a>, said in their own posts that &#8220;many&#8221; people have been let go. Inflexion confirmed with PC Gamer that &#8220;dozens&#8221; of employees were affected by the layoffs.<\/p>\n<p>I thought Nightingale&#8217;s &#8216;Mary Poppins-meets-Stargate&#8217; approach to open-world survival looked genuinely interesting, but it ran headlong into <a data-analytics-id=\"inline-link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.pcgamer.com\/nightingale-is-off-to-a-strong-start-but-its-also-got-a-mixed-user-rating-on-steam-and-once-again-server-problems-are-largely-to-blame\/\"><u>server problems<\/u><\/a> at launch, which dragged its user rating down to a less-than-appealing &#8220;mixed&#8221; on Steam. Despite previously insisting that its vision for the game&#8217;s interconnected realms, Inflexion quickly changed course and went to work on an offline mode, which eventually <a data-analytics-id=\"inline-link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.pcgamer.com\/games\/survival-crafting\/survival-base-builder-nightingales-offline-mode-has-arrivedalong-with-celebrities-like-joan-of-arc-and-edgar-allen-poe\/\"><u>went live in May<\/u><\/a>. It was well received but didn&#8217;t have any real impact on player numbers; the release of the <a data-analytics-id=\"inline-link\" href=\"https:\/\/store.steampowered.com\/news\/app\/1928980\/view\/4569553448608139865\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><u>Realms Rebuilt update<\/u><\/a> in September did see a notable uptick in concurrent players, but that tailed off fairly quickly too.<\/p>\n<p>Former senior audio designer Tom Avis seemed to imply in a LinkedIn message that these layoffs signalled <a data-analytics-id=\"inline-link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.linkedin.com\/feed\/update\/urn:li:activity:7257458191867723776\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><u>the end of Nightingale<\/u><\/a>, writing, &#8220;It&#8217;s painful that we couldn&#8217;t see the game through to its final form, but I hope players continue to enjoy the early access version, as there&#8217;s a lot we should be proud of.&#8221; In a reply <a data-analytics-id=\"inline-link\" href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/PlayNightingale\/status\/1851673442317156361\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><u>tweet<\/u><\/a>, however,
