New Restrictions Placed On Time Travel In Animal Crossing: New Horizons

Happy HolidaysNintendo Life

Time travel in Nintendo’s lifestyle simulation series Animal Crossing has always been a bit of a controversial play style. While some players are eager to see what the future may bring, others believe it’s the equivalent of cheating, as it allows you to unlock special items, earn Bells fast and participate in certain events ahead of schedule.

While this style of play is still a thing, it appears the latest Winter Update for the game has made some minor adjustments to time travel. Players who skip forward will no longer be able to activate certain events in the future (such as Turkey Day and Toy Day) if they haven’t actually played out yet in real life. They can, however, travel back to events that have already occurred.

As you might have guessed, there’s been some mixed reactions to this discovery – with some claiming they don’t always have time to play the game on a specific date and others glad to hear events will no longer be revealed before their set date.

What are your thoughts about no longer being able to participate in events ahead of time? Leave your thoughts below.
