Immortals Fenyx Rising’s Season Pass adds new world based on Chinese mythology

With mere weeks to go until the 3rd December launch of striking Greek-mythology-inspired open-world romp Immortals Fenyx Rising, Ubisoft has detailed its post-launch content plans for the game, including news of its three-part Season Pass.

Those that purchase Fenyx Rising’s Season Pass will gain access to a bonus quest, known as When the Roads Get Rocky, but the big new additions come in the form of three new story-driven DLC episodes, titled A New God, Myths of the Eastern Realm, and The Lost Gods.

Episode 1, A New God, sees Fenyx undertaking the Trial of the Olympians, a series of challenges hosted by gods players will have encountered in their main adventure. By completing the trials – described as “new types of puzzles set against the stunning backdrop of the home of the Greek Gods, Olympos” – Fenyx will finally be able to join the Inner Circle of the Pantheon, ready to challenge Zeus himself.

Myths of the Eastern Realm, meanwhile, introduces elements of Chinese Mythology to Fenyx Rising, this time following a new hero, Ku, on a journey across a new open-world set long before the events of the main game. “When a brutal war breaks out between Heaven and Earth,” says Ubisoft, “humanity is turned back into the clay that the Goddess Nuwa formed them from. But…Ku, escapes the curse of the broken heavens and emerges into the fallen world.”

It’s an adventure that promises new deities and monsters (plus a familiar face or two), alongside a unique fighting style based on Chinese martial arts.

Last up, then, is The Lost Gods, which turns its attention back to Fenyx as the world is ravaged by cataclysms caused by renegade deities. There’s promise of new brawler-style combat, as well as a new top-down isometric perspective and a new playable hero in the form of Ash, a human with access to new abilities and a new customisable upgrade system.

Myths of the Eastern Realm follows new hero Ku across a world inspired by Chinese Mythology.

“Fenyx discovers an unlikely champion in Ash, a temple sweeper that never lost their faith in the gods,” says Ubisoft of The Lost Gods, “The enthusiastic young hero-to-be travels to the Pyrite Islands [and] under the watchful guidance of Fenyx and Athena, will need to find resourceful ways to appease each of the gods and convince them to return home.”

The Season Pass will be available as part of Immortals Fenyx Rising’s Gold Edition, and can be purchased separately when the game comes to Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, PS5, Switch, PC, Amazon Luna, and Stadia on 3rd December.

Ubisoft also notes that Immortals Fenyx Rising will feature free post-launch activities for all players, including in-game events, weekly dungeon challenges, daily quests, and more.
