Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity is off to an absolutely flying start, shifting more than three million copies in less than a week.
It only released on 20th November, but early UK sales data indicated that the game could well be on a path to huge success, with physical launch sales outdoing Hyrule Warriors: Definitive Edition by 324%. As it turns out, this success has been replicated worldwide, with digital and physical sales totals combining to make up the impressive three million figure.
Koei Tecmo reveals (via Famitsu) that this sales total already makes Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity the best-selling Warriors game of all time, outselling lifetime totals achieved by the likes of Dynasty Warriors, Dragon Quest Warriors, Fire Emblem Warriors, and the previous Hyrule Warriors games in a matter of days.
The link to Breath of the Wild certainly paid off, then. Who knew?
